Title: Freedom Society Super Group
Post by: JeyNyce on September 07, 2009, 08:45:45 PM
Since one wasn't started, I figure I'll do it.  We need to get a list of all the members and their character names.  We can set everything up here so if more people want to play they can look here and get all the info.
If there is anything else to add, let me know

You know, once we get our uniform elements nailed down and everyone sorta' catches up in the game, it would be a lot of fun to play through this upcoming Blood Moon event as a team.  I wonder what level content it will have....

While we're here, we ought to talk about SG rankings. Up until now, I've just been promoting everyone to member (rank 3) except the first handful of people who are Grand Poobahs (rank 4, highest).

I think maybe for a temporary solution at least, we have 4 volunteers to be Grand Poobahs with full guild control. Everyone else has one member toon who can invite and remove players, as well as a few other things and the others playing as either munchkins (rank 2) or Sharkman bait (rank 1) with limited abilities.

I'm happy to step down from grand poobahness. I only have the status because I filled out the forms.

Reep, that format sounds good to me.  I wouldn't mind staying as a Grand Poobah if no-one else is interested, but I would also be willing to step down if someone else wants it more.

while I enjoy the thought of being recognised as a founder, I will be splitting my time between CO and Aion aswell as my online "job" so I may not be an ideal candidate, so i'm willing to step down if a place is needed.

I think Benton should stay up there, if only to have a titan with a controlling interest

I agree that Benton should stay up there.

I think Spud deserves Poobahness too, having the highest level character and therefore the most wisdom. Up to him, though.

As of now, the four Grand Poobahs are:

The Verdant Vowel@Alaric
Sentyman@Reep-the-Barbarian
Raucous@CaptainSpud
The Rogue@BentonGrey

I'm still happy to exchange my spot if anyone would volunteer.

When did THAT happen?!?

Seriously, I'm happy to serve, if that's what people want, but I should point out that I'll be away for the next week. I may be able to stop by the Forums from time to time, but you won't see me in-game until I get back.

It doesn't seem to be a big deal at this point.  There aren't any real super team functions of note yet.

Freedom Society IS the Freedom Reborn Guild.  Just like the dozens of super groups and villain groups in CoH are based out of this forum/community even though they're not called Freedom Reborn.

Apologies if I missed anyone

Xenolith: I'm very sorry, I accidently kicked Lugh instead of promoting you. I've reinivited and you're on the roster.

You may notice nobody is the rank of sharkman bait... thats so that I can keep track of who isn't added to the roster for the sake of this thread. Once you're promoted, I've made a note. Also, in order to distinguish the mains, all alts will be munchkins while mains will be members. If you main is a munchkin and you would like to promote him, grab a Poobah some time.

Lugh stinks, so no biggie there.  I've stopped playing him.  I guess the Celtic Mythos just doesn't trip my trigger.  Maybe I should have made Larry Bird.    <_<

I'll just have Mister Green and Bug for now.

Hey, would it be a sneaky trick to get a bunch of guys on the super group, purely for costume reasons? Granted, being in a super group has no benefits right now, except the chat channel, which we already have, and the list, which is basically a duplicate of my friends list anyhow.

But the costumes!

PS: The Corpse is what I would probably call my main. I play and like him the most of my other characters. So him and Unko can switch places.

Per Benton's request I'm posting this in the Freedom Society thread.

We would like to schedule a Freedom Society event and perhpas taking on one of the Public Quests would be a good way to do that.  The lowest level PQ I can think of is the zombie PQ in Canada, but thats fairly easy to accomplish and a little boring.  Jailbreak, too, is a little on the dull side.  The next one that comes to mind is the Ghost Town PQ in the desert.  Hangin' Judge Hensley (of Deadlands fame) is pretty tough, so it would be a good one to tackle with our characters  Viper X, which I think is called A Bullet for Bissel, is another one that might be fun to try.

The big question is when should we shcedule the event?  The following times work for me.

Thrusday at 8 EST
Thrusday at 9 EST

Friday at 8 EST
Friday at 9 EST
Friday at 10 EST

Beyond these options I'm completely open for suggestions.   I can't make it Wednesday nights and Saturday nights.

I'd love to do an FS event.  I hear that the lairs start around level 25, and I'd be interested in taking one of those on.  I'm not up there yet with The Rogue, but I shouldn't be too much longer in reaching that point.  The PQ's could be fun too, though.  I'm realitvely wide open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (after noon).  This week is a bit busy, but next week I'm wide open.

Isn't A Bullet For Biselle still bugged? I heard that the problem is when you expose Vipers they start attacking and can potentially ruin the entire thing by killing some of the other disguised Vipers so that you can't clear it since that doesn't leave enough Viper agents to expose during the mayor's speech.

Hangin' Judge Hensley isn't too bad if you've got someone who can tank him. I've seen him three-manned before.

Title: Re: Freedom Society Super Group
Post by: Xenolith on October 07, 2009, 07:46:31 PM
Mister Green is now level 30, so he can he tank the Judge.  We can try something else, too, like Destroyer's Factory or Telleois' Tower if a bunch of you have those missions.

Okay, lets schedule Friday, October 16th at 9 PM EST for our first event.

Quote from: Xenolith on October 07, 2009, 07:22:28 PMThe lowest level PQ I can think of is the zombie PQ in Canada, but thats fairly easy to accomplish and a little boring.

It's also in the Canadian crisis zone, rather than the regular Canadian zone, so it wouldn't be accessible to any characters who have gotten past that stage, anyway. In point of fact, there is one lower leveled PQ in the game, in the Tutorial, but that would have a similar problem.

I've successfully completed it with three or four different characters- even soloed the whole thing with one character- wasn't able to defeat Viper X that time, though...

Assuming you find an instance where it's just starting, it's easy to get around the problem- as soon as you attack an exposed assassin, he'll stop attacking civilians and go for you, instead. Since it'll take them a little while to kill a civilian, it's pretty easy to prevent this from happening- frankly, I don't understand why the problem seems to come up as often as it does, unless people are running around trying to expose all the assassins before defeating them...

Anyway, I'd be up for whatever- as far as I'm aware, I should be available at all the times listed.

I wasn't sure if the zombie mission was in the crisis zone or not.  Thanks for clarifying that one.
Title: Re: Freedom Society Super Group
Post by: UnkoMan on October 07, 2009, 10:41:32 PM
My highest is the Corpse and he is only 18. I guess I just don't play enough to level quickly (not to mention all the time I spend in the costume editor and on alts). He is a pretty darn good soloer though. I take out super villains all the time. I did need help on one mission, where a fella had regeneration greater than my own, and I couldn't do enough damage output to take him down...

That being said, I got one shotted by Viper X in the Bullet for Biselle thing. I didn't even expect it!

I have a character who is in Burnside right now, though, so I'm up for the hanging judge one.

Could I get an invite for Wall@lordpeers?  He's the current incarnation of Kazak, from CoX.  Amusingly, Kazak was based on a character called Wall, whom I played in the Champions RPG back in the late 80s.  Full circle.

And where did the costume pic for the Freedom Society get posted, again?  I can't seem to locate it.

Well, I might actually have some time to play this weekend.  Anyone want to take on some Blood Moon stuff on our Friday game day?

I need to add Doc Medic and Helvira to FS and I also need to be invited into our Chat channel. I joined both Freedom Society and the Freedom channels but when I tried to quit the Freedom channel I ended up quiting both.

So you can add

DMenacer
DMenacer
Doc Medic
Helvira

To the Freedom Society SG list of members.

Yay, I finally bought the game! If you still accept members I`d really like to join . Black Dragon is level 17, and Lightning Bolt is 15.

My handle is guile1987

So

Black Dragon@guile1987
Lightning Bolt@guile1987

Looking forward to playing with you guys!

Welcome Bat!  Send me a friend request, and if no-one else adds you before I get on, I'll be sure to do it.

If any of your characters are already in FS, and have the ability to invite others, you can actually invite your own characters. You'll be able to accept the invitation when you next log those characters in.

Thanks a million, had no clue I could do that. I'll be posting a bunch of Freedom Society costumes soon.
