All the tutorials seem to be for mods and such, so I will just let you know that I am very much an newbie--only playing, not modding. But I have been frustrated by being so limited on hero choices in the campaign. I have enough prestige points for the two I realllllllly want: Blackbird or Man 'o War. However, they are not made available. Do I have to beat the whole campaign before I can 'prestige' these into my team?! I'd really like to use them in the campaign...
Help is greatly appreciated.
If they're in the hero loading screen you should be able to highlight them in the list and click the "recruit" button to make them available for missions. Do that between missions when you're leveling up.

I would do exactly that, except their names (Blackbird and Man 'o War) do not show up despite the fact that I have more than enough prestige to recruit them....
are you playing the original or sequel?
more characters become recruitable as the game progresses

FFvsTTR is what I am playing--no updates, no mods.
I realize more will become available, but do either of these become available (Blackbird and Man 'o War)?
All the characters will eventually show up in the character pool. Man o' War shows up around mission 6 or 7.

Thank you! I take it few like Blackbird and therefore haven't taken note of when she is available....
One of the reasons I asked was the gamesbanshee walkthrough never lists these two as available at any point--of course, it never lists some others as ever becoming available either so I'm wondering just how complete it really is...
