Hi guys. This is more of a request for ideas. I'm going to do some redesigns of the X-men. create a group of say 6-10 characters but I'm pretty much stuck. So far I have
Psylocke
Phoenix
Colossus
because they're my fave x-men. There's enough Wolverine in the world already - so that makes him a no-no. Who else would work with these 3 in terms of an actual comic book line-up. I think Storm is pretty much a given I'd rather her as a leader than Cyclops - but then I think the three listed could work as a field leader. I thought about Dazzler too, but only because I want to try and make a good sequin texture.
The look will not be any of this street clothes rubbish. I always see the x-men in spandex. So suggestions for X-men to be reimagined please, if you don't mind :)
Nightcrawler, Iceman, and Northstar. How's that sound to ya?
you need a loner. someone that does what needs to be done, to the shock of the rest of the team. wolverine is out? maybe the native american, thunderbird. or wolvesbane. beak? a serious no nonsense beak.

Thanks for all the names, I've been googling for images as to get a 'look' for the characters. I'm torn between a team costume or individual looks. I'm thinking black & gold for the X logo (wherever I decide to place it).

Gah. I may have to resort to using Wolvie - as much as I loathe his overexposure....I may choose Wolfsbane however, I remember reading a bunch of old comics I was given for Christmas, one of them was The New Mutants where Cypher was killed. I liked her in that.

Dazzler is a definate. And Havok could do as a replacement for Cyclops. I've never cared for Gambit though - I see why he's liked....but I dunno...

I've got to admit that my knowledge of X-men goes no further than the days of X-treme/New X-men and the very beginning of Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing. From the little i've seen of her I'm not sold on her as a character, I know that the whole idea of comics is to introduce new characters and everything....but she literally comes off as wolverine in a woman's body to me....am I wrong?

Can I just second this nomination? I thought Cecilia Reyes was one of the most interesting characters to come out of the X-books... the issue where she's forced to wear one of Wasp's old costumes is still one of my favorites.
I'm also a Wolfsbane fan and i'd love to see more costumes of her, but maybe in a second round with the rest of new mutants ^_^
