Title: Scoping X-Man's Work?
Post by: daglob on August 31, 2009, 04:31:05 PM
Does anyone know how he might feel about it?

I want to take his Female Longhair Cape and move the cape to another Female Longhair mesh converted to FFv3R. In Nifscope, his mesh looks like Female Longhair scoped onto Male Cape. The reason I want to use this particular mesh is that IT WORKS. X-Man has already done the really hard work. I have done the easy part already, but will not release this version unless it's kosher.

Your female_longhair_cape is still half-done on my hard-drive. Haven't done much FF lately. I'll try to finish it in the next 2 weeks. Then i still have to tackle female_pencil_skirt_nurse_hat for you.

i'd say no, the guy had an open campaign against mesh hexxing so i think he would flip out over skoping

Have you tried Ink's various Storm meshes? They have longhair and capes.

They're not very animated though. I like Ink's stuff but he took some... short cuts on his meshes.

X-Man?  Do you mean X-Dud?  He's on the Permissions List as one who denies permission.

The name in the Readme is X-Man. I don't know if that is the same as X-Dud or not, which is why I asked.

If Yellow Lantern finishes what he is working on, the whole point should be rendered moot, anyway.

Wonder what a moot looks like...

X-Man and X-Dud are two different meshers.

Do not hex or skope X-Dud's meshes, which I think are just Ghost Rider, Vengeance and Sentinels.

X-Man was a different mesher but I can't remember him well. I think he was very early but I could be wrong.

female_longhair_cape without clipping of hair/cape and it should be compatible with Gren's female_basic_cape keys. It should also convert to 3R without ANY fuss. I also tried to alpha-enable the cape - not sure if it worked.

There were something like four or five skins done for X-man's mesh (a Supergirl and a Thorn, for sure). While they will go on Female Basic Cape, I wanted them to go on the correct mesh. The mesh had a few problems in FF1, but after I converted it to FFv3R, the figure would flip at 180 degrees in the flight animation, while the cape only flipped 90. It will be nice to have that problem eliminated, and of course any Female Basic Cape skin should go on it with a little work.

Many thanks to Yellow Lantern. I intend to post this mesh with a skin very soon for everyone to be able to use.

daglob, did you ever release this version of female_longhair_cape? I looked on Da Glob's Skin-A-Rama (http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=49044.0) (which is a bit outdated, btw, and missing characterobscura7), but could not find it on that list, nor in characterobscura7.

If anyone can point me to a version of female_longhair_cape that works with FF1, I'd appreciate it. I would probably use X-man's version, if only I could find where to download it...

PS: female_pencil_skirt_nurse_hat sounds interesting...  Is there an image of that somewhere?  ^_^

I believe I included the FLC mesh with the skin for Kitty Kelly. She is in Character Obscura V, or send a message to daglob@yahoo.com, and I'll send her to you.

There may be a pic of FPS with a Pepper Potts skin around here someplace... It's Betty Page in a nurses uniform. The mesh includes a skin for Rocketeer's Betty, and Natasha Fatale (who goes with the Boris Badenov and Fearless Leader skins I'm working on. Now if someone would make Moose and Squirrel skins...).

X-Man was way early in FF history - like when Gryphon and Tortuga were just starting out. Ink, Grenadier, Renegade, and C6 were fresh on the scene about the time X-Man disappeared. At least that's how I remember it. I could be wrong.
