Title: Need Help with AI Generator
Post by: Xenolith on August 31, 2009, 02:51:40 AM
Okay, I've decided to use built-in characters since I've put FFX back on my computer.  I like the whole move radius thingy and the ability to tweak elasticity, pick up distance, etc.  Anyway, when I go to run the AI generator, the built-ins I've made don't show up.  I have them selected at Campaign Only, and they show up when I just look at "Characters" from the main  menu.  Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Soooo... I figured it out.  Built in characters must have AIGenericHero selected.  Maybe some other AI is okay too, but it can't be blank.  Not sure why, but that's the way it is.

However, now i'm having a problem where the characters essentially stand and look at each other.  Is there a known problem with built-in characters and the M25 AI?

Are you entering the correct modes? Also, it may help to print your script and/or ff log file(s) because something may be breaking before the game starts.

Ive actually been trying to help JLAFan with this same problem. When the characters are hero files the AI works fine. When it gets converted to built in, some of the AI seems to just get stupid. Ive tried changing around AI modes, and settings, manually tweeking the generated AI (which causes some behavioral changes, but essentially just makes them stupid in a different way).. so the AI is doing something... just not what its supposed to be doing.

I haven't been able to figure it out either.

The AI in the DCUG occasionally exhibits similar qualities.....I can't figure it out either.

Same problem, just with my main villain on Legion mod. I tried "fool" the game, reinstalling the mesh with a different name and a slightly different set of powers. No dice.
Someone knows any way to fix or avoid this?

Changed the "name game" of the character too, then he worked. Not too bright (only uses two powers at best), but at least he's not a pacifist villain anymore.
