Title: Skope/Mesh request...
Post by: House Quake on August 14, 2009, 03:43:13 AM
OK... I tried... but cannot wrap my little brain around skoping.  I'm wanting to get back into skinning... but I'ld really like to be able to create my characters as closely as possible to thier designs.  And that requires skopes and/or meshes.  Hopefully some one skilled in the art of skoping and/or meshing can help me out a bit.

here are the first two

Fury
(http://newpowerinc.com/hqsamples/request/fury.jpg)

Superstar
(http://newpowerinc.com/hqsamples/request/superstar.jpg)

These are original chars and if anyone is interested in doing the skopes/meshes for me... lets talk specifics.  ^_^
depending ho it goes... more will be posted later.

if Bearded is willing to do Superstar, I can whip up a skope/mesh for Fury. I might need to request the flaming hair (I know where to get one for FF1, FF2 is different though, I'll likely need to request VX's Human Torch) but I think I've got a handle on everything else. My question to you would be: What EXACTLY do you want meshed, and what body type are we talking? A Male_Basic build, or did you have something specific in mind?

Did you draw those yourself HQ? I really like the drawings and designs of these characters. More particularly Fury.

(small side comment)
I had doodled an original character named Fury way back (my drawing pales in comparison to yours). He looks different but has the same flaming hair concept. :P..

thanks for the quick reply  (why do I feel like Blk Cass when I use smilies?)

@Bearded... If I'm correct, you're offering to make some of the parts to be used by someone to skope? (I assume because I've followed your Mesh thread)

With both... FF1 but compatible or definitely convertible to FF2.

Fury
- Texas Jack did a mesh for this character a while back... but not wanting to be a pest, because he made quite a few... I held back on aspects I wanted.   Its FF1 and converts to FF2. I'll give you a link as a possible starting point if you want to take a look at it.  But i really don't know what way would be easier.  I really don't like imposing with difficult request... but this is the one of the few things I never grasped.
- Body type: Muscular... If I had to choose... one of Ren's thick necked John Stewert GLs (modern maybe).
- Meshed/Skoped parts: Belt, Wolverine like Boots and Mask
- Keyframes: Grenadier's Submariner_land, included with the original Fury mesh (I assume for proper anim of the arm wingy thngies.
* The Fury mesh has 'fire' effects.. but over whole body.  I just want it more like Firestorm.

Superstar
- Body Type: Male Basic Cape
- Meshed/Skoped parts: Boots, Cape, High Gloves (but not the gold hand part... will skin that.. though I may have to skin the gloves completely), Belt, Collar, Cape Studs, Hair (Longshot by Ink) and front piece.
* From a skoping standpoint... I think relatively common parts  except maybe the boots. Just not on same mesh per say.

What ever help given with these are appreciated

Yep.  Gotta get the rust off once in awhile.  I usually don't show much of anything I ever draw because... well... IMO I suck!  But thanks for the comp.  ^_^

i'll be glad to make what parts i can on male cape.  then i'll export the whole deal for other parts for someone to add on if necessary.  i'd like to try my hand at that hair style, using this new technique i discovered.  i don't suppose you have a profile or backshot?
the gloves look like they could be done with a cone on the biceps and skinning for the rest.

'course, i won't mind if you go with ink's hair.  i just don't know how to skope that well, and it was fun making this.  and, you can totally direct me on changes you want to it.

Is there a male_heavy with a large gut and butt?  I have a character called crowbar who is built like a defensive lineman.  A fat defensive lineman.   :)

Thanks.

LOL

Well... there is an ancient hex that fits the description. (one of the very the first hexes ever released to the community thanx to Captain Cockroach who taught me some new tricks he was working on before going)

This is the third mesh/skope I'm hoping to get done.  My AV mesh was always meant to be more of a 'stout' male basic.  The original was a male heavy mesh by Val which I shrunk and hexed to its current state.  It was hard back then trying to get avatar meshes and/or trying to describe what I wanted. So I made the best of it.

@ Zivon... yep... thats the idea.  The Wolvie TJ parts are what I considered because they were FF1.

@ Tomato... The HQ mesh is the one I was going to ask you about specifically.  Since you were kinda 'overly' agreeable when I said my Avatar was long over due for a rehual.  LOL

These three, along with IIRC three more I'll post later, each had something I thought would be a challenge. ie unique part, particle emissions, etc.  I still have a few people to finish getting setup at NPI... then its into a hole with my Paint Shop Pro X2 and char tool.

Where would you like it sent to?  It is a quick skope for the pic.  gotta 'tweek' it so it works and looks better.  There is minor clippin I want to get rid of.  PM me and I will send you the finished skope on Sunday.

Heh, I do love my avs. I'll see about pounding him out tomorrow, probably export a pre-HQ rendition mesh as a "Male_Stout_TM" or somesuch before doing the character specific stuff... to meet that goal we were talking about before, y'know. I do have a few questions about the mesh, but I'll take those to PM.

base skin: Muscle_Basic-256  by Gryphon and some standard TaskMaster_Extras, as I've modified it from a base of the Taskmaster max.

My daughter (16) thinks this stuff is cool.  She's hovering over my shoulder and I'm trying to explain skins vs. meshes  :banghead:  But she actually is getting it... go figure.  :)

it's like, the mesher is the inker and the skinner is the colorist.  sort of.  but the right skin can totally make the mesh shine.
you can't see in this pic so well, but the boots have that indent in the sides and back.  should i make that indent bigger?  and while i have it open, any custom animations?

Looks pretty much perfect as is.  KFs... as long as its compatible with a standard set like Grensdiers super style... is cool.  ^_^

Does Fury "throw" Fireballs like human torch?
