I have been playing the LSH mod for FFVtTR and once I'm back at base from the Fatal Five mission, it stops working- the Play Briefing button is lit, but pushing it does nothing, so I can't go on. Can anybody tell me what I can do to move on? Thanks!

Could it be you've simply hit the end of the mod? I don't believe the story has been completed yet.

There are four playable missions.
The fatal 5 is mission 2.
Most likely thing is some Python script error, so:
After you try to run the mission, look in your main FFv3R directory for "ff.log" and "script.log".
Please cut and paste those here, preferably using the code tags, if I can I'll try to figure it out...
Also, if you haven't completed the fatal 5 mission in the way you need to

, you may have problems.
Basically Python scripting isn't my strong point, so the missions may be prone to falling over.
No, I beat the mission the correct way, but it then goes to a cut-scene setup that doesn't go anywhere, it just sits. I will get those logs for you as soon as I can... thanks!

Worst case scenario, if I can't "fix" it, I'll at least upload savedgames that let you play the other missions. It's not perfect, as they wont have your own choices of who gets what points or who is recruited, but it's something.

This is just a guess, because my LSH missions files are apparently a little different from yours, but it looks like the problem is a call to cshelper.play that perhaps should have just been a call to play.
If you look in the ..\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\LSH\Missions for folders that start with lsh (like lsh1_smallville), you will see files named base.py and mission.py. Open those files and search for the string cshelper.play and replace any matches with just play (leaving unchanged the rest of the line where it appears). Back up those files before saving changes to them.
I only found one file with that string in it, lsh1_smallville\base.py. But, try it and that might fix that issue.

It's a pity none of these problems were pointed out to me when I released the mod, more than two years ago.
Instead of now, when I'm right in the middle of moving house and may well not have any internet access from after tomorrow for some time.
I guess what I'm saying is that having fixed one issue with the base not running, I have no idea what this second problem is, and neither the time, nor the inclination to go through the Python scripts today in order to fix it.
Unless Stumpy is in a fixing mood, or someone else feels philanthropic and wants to untangle my poorly written code, you are going to have to wait a bit, I'm afraid. I'll check in again when I'm able if I get any idea of how to deal with this, but have no idea why it would develop a previously unseen syntax error two years down the line.
Since this was released pre xp sp3 and vista it could be a conflict with the operating system and the game :rickbm

I am very grateful for your help (and for the helpful tips of stumpy and Green Hornet, too!). Don't worry, we all are grateful to you had taken time to make a very fun mod, even if we can't get a way to play missions 3 and 4 the mod is great. As an old Legion fan i just loved your maps (ah! if i could use it on my own stories!), meshes and skins.
So, thanks for taking your time to help this newbie (just discovered the game about 2 months ago) and good luck with the moving!

There is a way to play the 4rth mission, even if the 3rd freezes:
Make the modifications Tommy suggested, as soon the briefing for the third mission begins use the cheat code "Mission_Win()" (without the quotes) and you will skip 3rd mission, but will be able to play the final levels.
Just be sure the cheats code are enabled (you can see how here http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/code/919085.html).

i had a few minutes today to try running the mission which John Jr got the "syntax error" on, but for me it ran fine with no problem.
So I'm at a bit of a loss why you are getting that error.
Does any sort of cut-scene play at the start of the mission?
Yes, the cutscene play normally, Tommy.
I'm still not where I can get to my copy of the mod yet, but beforehand, it was after I saved the game post Fatal Five. When I load it, no cutscene plays- it looks like its setting up to do a between-mission cutscene in a very neon-looking place, but nothing happens. I also tried loading the Fatal Five mission over again and playing back through it, and it just stops after the Fatal Five mission is completed.
