The Michael Jackson news hits like a ton of bricks for me.  He may have fallen off the wagon in later years but the man was a legend in his own time.  I really can't believe it.  I saw him once in person and the energy in the room was the most incredible sensation I have ever been a part of.  RIP.

Yeah, Michael Jackson did not have an easy life by any means.  Certainly he was messed up, but I never wished ill on him.  I can only hope he and Farrah are in a better place now.

I wasn't a big fan of MJ, but he was one heck of an entertainer.  The worst part is that ebay is going to explored with MJ stuff.

I do not care what anyone says Michael Jackson will always be the greatest entertainer of all time. If you don't believe me, listen to Thriller.

What sucks most about Farrah dying is that Ryan O'Neil finally asked her to marry him and she accepted, but they weren't able to get it done.

Thriller = Quite possibly the greatest album of all time, and the second one I ever owned (the first being Synchronicity by The Police). And the Thriller video is STILL the greatest music video ever made (though MJ's own video for Beat It is right up there with it).

Even though I thought he was a bit nuts, I always felt kind of sorry for Michael Jackson, and the news of his passing is fairly devastating.

I had a dream that someone on the forums drew a picture of Ed welcoming MJ & Farrah to the gates of heaven.  The pic was so popular that it was all over the internet.....Then I woke up

Here are some random memories.

When I was a lot younger I was aware of his ability to sing and dance, but in particular I thought the Michael Jackson arcade game was awesome, where you beat up enemies and cleared the screen by performing explosive dance moves or turning into robo-michael and shooting everything. Hopefully I can find a website that mentions it and post a link.

That got me into Thriller and I was really fond of his music. I knew a few kids who could moon walk a little. Billy Jean became a song (and video) I really liked and of course I love the Alien Ant Farm version all these years later.

In the 90's I really got into MTV and the era of Terminator 2, which meant computer effects everywhere. Michael had that song "Black or White" which did a ton of merge effects and it was kind of a big deal back then, I would not be suprised if it still holds up quite well. He did a lot of pretty cool high tech videos then, in particular I liked Scream with his sister Janet since it was all sci-fi and anime inspired.

As of recently I've barely followed the controversy although I was suprised by his Saudi Arabian dealings and how he got cut off after failing to fulfill a contract, leading to his financial problems at the end of his career. It is a shame, and a shock and a surprise that he passed away. So it goes.

Good news! Jeff Goldblum is NOT (http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1033981/Goldblum-'dead'-in-online-hoax) dead!

...

Wait, what?

It is a real shame.  Jackson was a tormented soul, and it is obvious that the fellow was really messed up by all the stuff that went on in his childhood.  Still the fellow was amazingly talented.  He seems a most tragic figure.

Gotta add BILLY MAYS to the list too. Now I really can't make fun of his shouting anymore. Well, I can, but you know. Just feels weird.
