Title: Stand Back! There's A New Skinner in Town!
Post by: konbiz on June 22, 2009, 11:23:13 AM
Alright everyone this is what you've all been waiting for...

For the past few weeks I've been working on creating some fantastic original skins. Now I know what you're thinking, that I seem a little bit cocky, well in response I must say that I am the best skinner that this community has ever seen.

Anyway enough talk...

Spoiler

I call this one Iraqi Insect... Now I had to make a conscious decision here to not skin the nipples showing through the costume, but then I decided that it's very warm in Iraq so no nipples would be better for character continuity...

Now this guy is someone I like to call Mr. USA. I got inspiration for him when I was taking my citizenship test, I feel like his minuteman uniform really conveys "America"

And finally...

This guy I call Stretchy Stalker. More on this guy later.

Anyway, I would ask for critiques but I know that my skins don't need to be improved.

I'll be posting more skins later, after all I can't just churn out greatness.

P.S. Any ladies out there interested in "skinning" give me a call... 1-800-KIT-BASH

Brilliant, original stuff. I can see a whole range of styles emerging in your work. Good job as usual, AA.

I don't know whether to be angry or laugh out loud. *brain explodes*

I do find it interesting I'm one of the ones chosen though.

Good job as usual, AA.
I have nothing to do with and I'm not even sure what this is about but thanks for the compliment.

I assume Konbiz (who has been here since Dec 2004) is not in fact me because either a) that advil I took this weekend finally made me snap and I have a personality I don't know about or b) I was sleeping when this was posted and I wouldn't have reposted C6 and Tomato's work without permission. Not that I care about reposting (I encourage backlinking and such), but I wasn't asked either.

I think it's pretty funny... maybe a way to bump some wicked skins up on the community's collective radar?

Definitely very, very funny, and obviously intended as a joke, as well as a tribute to three of the most gifted skinners in this community. However, (speaking as basically a non-creator) I'm personally not comfortable with someone claiming credit for other people's work n this way, even with the obvious humorous intent. If this post had been made on April 1st, or had been posted in the forum currently called "Randy's House of Hope", I'd have no problem with it. I do understand that making it obvious ahead of time that it's a joke ruins the joke somewhat, but, unfortunately, that's one of the problems with the Internet- if you don't fairly clearly label something with "This Is a Joke" or the equivalent, chances are that someone out there will take it seriously. By tradition, things posted on April 1st are something of an exception, of course.

So, yes, it was funny, and no, konbiz clearly didn't mean any harm by doing this, but for future reference, at least in my opinion (for what that's worth), this kind of post is a bad idea.

I am curious to know why he didn't include a Housequake skin since he is obviously meaning to imply some reference to the FR Judges.
Can't wait for tomorrow episode.  :popcorn

No, No, No. TUe has already put in scared and confused. You can call, matching his scared and confused, or raise him, say with mildly annoyed. . IF you don;t call ro raise, I'mn afraid I'll have to award TUE the pot for this hand. My advice: go all in (i.e. Compleley OUTRAGED!!!)

<with gasping dying breath> I'll... see... your murderous rage... and raise you... a... THIRST FOR UNDYING VENGENCE!  (Doc Challenger's ghost, undying and immune to any and all attacks, proceeds to flick Tomato's head-stem repeatedly).

there are no words to express the beatitude of the perfect skins displayed.  so, I won't try.  I'll just say, they are so beyond perfection they don't even need meshes.  A mesh would only sully their purity, I plan on putting them directly in the game.  In fact, I don't think I'm going to put them in the game at all.  I'm going to wait until cybernetics advance to the point I can inject them directly into my headspace.
When, I ask, when is the most honored skinner going to gift us with more works of art?
