I like never remember artist names...

UDON, I don't have specific names, but whoever they are, swell coloring and definitely not too mangaish. I hate manga.

Steve Epting + Mike Perkins
I love Brubaker's Captain America, and definitely not just for the story. Really classy realistic stuff, keeps the story interesting when there's not a lot of action and really delivers in fight scenes.

bill sienkiewicz.  i especially liked his run on the new mutants.  for me, it was the sequential aspects of it, no individual flash pages.

Barry Windsor Smith: very detailed, great anatomy, master of mood. A little psychedelic yet painfully realistic. He did some great X-Men, some good solo work (Storytellers) and of course Weapon X, which is a better frankenstein story than Frankenstein.

Paul Gulacy: woefully underated, he is incredibly flexible going from well done silver age to incredibly realistic modern to highly stylized work. His sense of anatomy and movement is really impressive.

David Mack His black and white work is like a more professional James O Barr, his color work is like a less gothic Dave Mckean. I love kabuki to death and enjoy most of his other comic work.

Didn't Ron Lim do the IG series?

My favorite artist was Arthur Adams, especially his work on the X-Men Annuals...it's what got me into comics in the first place. I think I read the giant sized X-Men where Alpha Flight, the XMen and the New Mutants fight Loki at least fifty times.

And I did say my favorite was Neal Adams, followed by etc.

Oh yeah, Art Adams is great, as is Ron Lim (and Michael Golden, and John Byrne, and Marshall Rogers), but wasn't it Jim Starlin on The Infinity Gauntlet?

DK has been my favorite artist for a long time since he took over the Hulk all those years ago with Peter D...I could have died and gone to heaven at that time...maybe i should have....

But then I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Liam Sharp

Am I the only one who's noticed that a certain well known artist - Jim L** - hasn't been mentioned yet? (I dare not mention his full name, less I bring the full fury of his worshipers upon me.)  :D

Yeah, that upset me because the dude is in fact a great artist who I think its trying too hard to do mainstream work with meainstream pencils on a mainstream schedule. I still think he is worth 50 Greg Lands and 100 Rob Liefields so it breaks my heart a little that his swipe jobs have turned "the internet" against him.

It's a hard choice between Ryan Ottley, Steve McNiven, and Ethan Van Sciver...but I'll go with Van Sciver. He just makes the GL universe look hawt!

John Cassady - He's like Alex Ross meets Moebius http://www.johncassaday.com/uploads/galleries/2006032147364.jpg

Frank Quitely is a close second, but Darwyn Cooke, Mike Allred and Paul Pope fill out my favorites.
