Title: A Child in Need
Post by: BentonGrey on May 18, 2009, 10:39:35 PM
Howdy guys, I'm writing this to all of you who pray.  My wife's step-sister has a baby who is in the hospital in real trouble tonight.  This child, Parker, nearly drowned in the bathtub earlier, and the doctors say that it will be a miracle if he survives.  Please pray for him, and also my wife's family.  As you can imagine, they are all really shaken up by this.  Thank you friends.

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts.  We still have no word.  This is really hard on my wife, the not knowing.  I maintain that, in this case, no news might be good news.  It means that the little guy is still alive.  For my part, I'm just trying to stay busy.

We got some news a while ago, and it isn't good.  My wife is flying home on Thursday, likely to prepare for a funeral.

Benton,

Dark though be the times, there are many who care and it has been expressed here.  You and your family will be in my prayers and others.  You have been a friend to many, my sincerest condolences.

Hey guys, all of this, especially the above, has meant a lot to me.  Please keep my wife's family in your prayers, especially her step-father and step-sister.  This is really hitting them hard, as you'd imagine.

My wife called me tonight, and it hit me pretty strong.  Things with the estranged husband's family are really, really bad...and apparently Parker's mother was not just unstable, but over medicating...it is a terrible situation.  However...it seems that this child may have been spared an utterly miserable life, given the disposition of his parents.  That thought is helping my wife and I understand what has happened.  Thank you all once again for your prayers and support.  I love this place, and it means a great deal to me.

Aw man Benton, I just saw this thread...geeze man, there is simple no words to help heal the pain of losing a small child right now, except condolences.  One thing will for sure though is time will heal. As you can already see there is gonna be alot of different emotions surrounding this, but as time passes things will get better.......trust me, I know.
