Hi, I'm Tomato. My home just get broken into less then an hour ago(I was here luckily, so they ran away pretty quickly), and I'm still freaking the frick out. Any help I can get in that regard would be very much appreciated.

Geez Tomato, that's awful.  Did they break/take anything?
Not sure what I can say to help -  once our house got broken into back when I was still in high school.  We came back from eating out and nearly tripped over the TV which was sitting near the doorway.  The thieves apparently took too much time wrapping the cord up or something and in all only took a broken walkman, a bit of jewelry, and my fruit rolls (I kid you not).

				Have you called the police?
Do you know anyone who could keep you company tonight?
Sorry if these seem like stupid questions, but in this kind of situation it's not always obvious what questions are or aren't stupid.
If the answers are, respectively, "yes" and "no", all I can say is, 1) keep safe, and 2) try your best to get your mind off of it. Not knowing your exact situation, I can't give you any good advice about how to balance these two things.
I'm sure you'll have a rough night, though. You have my sympathy. That kind of thing can really shake you up. The only break-in I've experienced personally was when I was about 3 or 4, I think, and our dog chased them away, but I have been mugged...
Maybe you should listen to some music? Or do something you've been putting off- house cleaning or something, just to keep you occupied.

Mk, listening to some audiobooks right now, working on Figure Fan's avatar skin for awhile. Now that I'm able to stop subconsciously shaking, it's coming on fairly well.
Basically, the sequence of events, for me, came about like this
-Earlier this afternoon, this guy was knocking on the door for over an hour. I looked through the peephole and didn't recognize him, so I did nothing to indicate I was here... I thought he might be looking for one of my roommates, and I didn't feel like that's any of my business.
-About 11:30-11:45 someone slowly opened the door to my upstairs room while, as far as I can tell, they were scouting out what they could take. I looked up at the door, and the two thieves (kids about my age, maybe younger) ran. It took me a few seconds to register what was going on, and by the time I'd started chasing them and had discovered the exit they'd taken, they were long gone.
-A minute or so later, I discovered the basement door had been broken into. The door frame was fairly rotted, so they just broke off the wood holding it shut.
-I called the police, gave them my parents number, then called my parents to keep them from freaking out if the cops called and said my apartment had been broken into, to prevent my mom freaking out more then I was.
-Officer came, I showed her what had happened, she said she'd probably going to keep an eye out around the area. Pushed some heavy objects against the door to make it at least slightly inaccessible then it was, at least until the door frame is fixed.
Unfortunately, I can't do a proper account of anything being missing until my roommates return from wherever (which may not happen tonight, it seems), especially since anything that is "mine" is in my room. However, all the TVs, computers, and silverware seem to be in place from what I can tell, so it's entirely possible they weren't actually getting down to the real stealing just yet when I freaked them out.

Jeez, dude. Well, on the bright side, it doesn't seem like they've taken anything, or at least nothing major. And you're safe.

Well that's scary. At least nothing was taken and they ran. It's most likely they won't try to come back now at all. I'm really sorry to hear that. Do you have a weapon of some kind? I don't suggest using it for revenge or at all, but it always feels better sleeping next to a baseball bat or a sword or gun or something.
Wow, that was terrible advice!

I KNEW they couldn't be trusted! And C6 was in the FFC chat while I was playing Web of Shadows too!

Geez. I can't even imagine what that must have been like. It is good to hear that nothing seems to have been taken and most importantly, that you are safe.

Main thing is you're OK.

I'm glad you are ok, hopefully the scare will wear off soon.

Dang man! Glad everything's OK now.

Wow thats pretty freaky. Glad you're ok, and hopefully nothing was taken.

Hey Tomato, that's really terrible.  I'm glad you're alright and everything seems to be intact.  I know that can make you feel pretty on edge.
