The 5th Column returns! Read about it here (http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/game_updates/issue_15/issue_15_overview.html)!
Hooray for getting to bash Nazi's again!
What the flagnard ? We just had 14 come out!
awesome.
:o
Wha...!!!?
That's awesome!
I'm excited about new faces! That'll be fun to play with.
Me likey!
Huzzah!
I believe the question I'd like to get answered is... when?
Is it on Test already?
Not on test yet. Posi said soon™.
Hopefully this will hit test all quick like. I can't wait to try that TF.
This looks like a fairly thin issue (albeit a cool one) so I suspect it'll come out quite soon.

I agree it looks a little on the thin side, but remember, there's no reason to think we're seeing all the features yet- usually, they usually keep adding features to the description as a new issue gets closer. Still, I get the sense that they want to get this one to live as soon as possible, so maybe they'll keep it pretty simple. I'm hoping there'll be at least one more, as-yet-unannounced feature, though.
Still, all the announced features look exciting to me, and the description for the 5th Column Her0 Taskforce, especially, makes it look as if the 5th may be coming back into play as a regular, recurring enemy group- maybe not immediately, but down the road. If so, I wonder how they're planning to make the 5th and the Council seem more distinct, in game terms.
Thin, Schmin. IF They rolled something out like this bi monthly instead of the Russian Winters we've been forced to endure between issues, I'd be happier.

To be fair, they aren't going to roll out new powersets and innovative features like Architect on a bi-monthly schedule. Notice they haven't done any additional powerset proliferation. But they did introduce Shields, Pain Domination, Architect, and Day Jobs all within the last 6 months or so. Before that they had Proliferation, Ouroboros, Cimerora, Vanguard/RWZ...
Things are moving quite a bit faster than they used to. NCSoft is throwing a heck of a lot more resources at it than Cryptic ever did.
Somebody refresh my memory... How many releases were there before the switch to NCSoft in-house?
I WANT SPRINKLES!
Today is the day. The I15 patch is on test right now but the test server is currently down.

Hm. Pretty cool. They're pretty generic, but it's always good to have more of a selection.
I have a feeling the new faces are more "neutral" in preparation for the Going Rogue expansion. There's quite a few good new ones, but I do wish they had a little more variety of expressions.
Yes... the day before I'm going away for a couple of weeks. Oh, well...
MWAHAhahaah!
Our evil plan worked. We have made Alaric regret his upcoming trip. All has gone according to plan. Cookies for all!
Err... Um... EVIL cookies for all!!

Is this the 'hope really hard that issue 15 comes out on test today' evil plan?
It isn't in the release notes, but one of the things I've read about (but haven't tried yet myself) is the ability to change the colors and names of standard contacts in MA.
MA seems to be the bigger winner here, with great new debugging tools like Invisibility and Invincible.
Some of those new female faces look like they just mixed and matched parts from existing faces and did a few tweaks.
I just got that on-exit download thing...
oooooooooooh!
2nd post worthy news!
All servers are down, not long after that use-your-smegging-respecs-quickly news bulletin came up this last weekend.
I'm excited.
Wow, first time I've ever seen an issue release not on a Tuesday! Good thing I finished the stalker last night, my plate is all free now!

QuoteWhat are you waiting for? Jump in and get playin'!
LOL still getting "Internal Testing" error :P
Shame they didn't announce the respec in the Announcement section. :banghead: Don't they usually wait a week or so AFTER an issue goes live to issue the respec?

Seems to me it depends on the issue. Some issues get no freespec. Others get it right away (but they usually tell us it's coming). And they've also given them out after the fact -- I think because something was screwed up or because of massive outcry for one.
Normally we only get a freespec if they've rebalanced something. Maybe this is an anniversary present.
Well, they've capped respecs to one at a time, so I imagine you can't get another respec when you have one unused...
Which, in some way, is a relief for me. I had no idea what to do with my 27 respecs. :o

Uh, no. They've always had two kinds of respecs- regular ones, which you can get from doing respec missions, vet rewards, etc., and freespecs, which are sometimes given out with a new "issue", if the devs decide that it makes sense that people will want to change their builds after the release. Regular respecs have always stacked, while freespecs have always been limited to one at a time (they do stack with regular respecs, though).

I've never done a respec trial, so I can't answer for those. Some other person will have to explain how those stack. But you can have both an unused freespec and an earned respec at the same time (I believe).
Freespecs, which they've issued from time to time, are capped. They are on a use-it-or-lose-it basis. They benefit folks who respec every issue.
Vetspecs are earned over time as Vet Rewards. It essentially gives you extra respecs you can redeem whenever you want for each character on your account. Vetspecs are the main reason I don't worry about it. Even if I use up my freespec, I've never exhausted my vetspecs on any character.
Thats odd... I do seem to have a myriad of respecs which I have no idea where they're from - I'm not kidding, theres somewhere in the area of 15 on Reep the Barbarian. (Definitely not vet rewards or respec trials... only got two from those used them immediately). This was the first mention of a free respec cap I've ever heard so I figured it was a new feature.
Just my luck that they would push this issue out when I have no time to play. Have fun with the new stuff gents. See you on the 4th. :)
Anyone done the new TF yet? I've not had access to the internet and am wondering if its worth setting up my gaming computer next to the router temporarily... Will do it if the TFs worth it.
Also, anyone else catch wind of double xp this weekend? I won't be around.
I renewed last night and walked into the SF with everyone. I think it took us 3hours 7 minutes, but we completed it and got our Arbiter badges.
