Title: 3D Modelling Question
Post by: AfghanAnt on April 21, 2009, 03:57:17 PM
So I have a copy of Maya, 3ds Max, and trueSpace (http://www.turbosquid.com/caligari) from work and I want to test them out but I know Freedom Force meshes need a certain exporter where can I find it?

Also is there anyway to import trueSpace models into game? Or would I have to take them into 3ds Max first (I'm more comfortable with trueSpace at the moment)?

Thanks, peeps.

If you are just doing static objects you can use any 3D program you want provided it can export OBJ or 3DS (I personally have more luck with OBJ). Then you can import the OBJ directly into Nifskope (I believe its on the file menu, and will attach itself to whatever node is currently selected). I keep an empty FF nif file around as a blank starting point.

If you wanted to do characters, than 3DMax is pretty much it.
