Vertex, I and others are on a few initiatives to 'spark' the community. One of the first projects got sabotaged... but we've learned and will do better the second time around.
I have always supported original creators and that hasn't changed. I have several projects I'm helping to implement. I won't speak to much on the first project which has taken priority... but I do hope it becomes something the community can grasp and help it to become a major asset. The second will be helping to get creators of original content hosted on sites and organized by either joining NPI directly or being part of the NPI network (I'll explain more in a sec). And the third being kinda early in development but once done... should be something that 'everybody' can help contribute too no matter thier skill. I'll admit it may not be the newest of ideas... but hopefully more organized.
In the past a lot of peeps I asked about joining the NPI team did so with the intent of creating within the NPI structure and universe. Right now, that offer is back on the table... but also includes offers to people who 'just' wish to use the NPI structure, but maintain their own universe (Dr Mike2000 is a good example of some one who once used NPI terminology for his Strangers characters.. though he was still independent of NPI) and those original creators who have their own structure and universe set up... but just lack a way to get it out.
With a couple of exceptions... I'm going back to the 'original' theme with an emphasis on the Incorporated aspect of New Power INC... ie individual sites under the same brand. A sort of site ring. NPI members like Carravaggio, for instance, would carry a special 'brand' on thier site which will acknowledge that thier characters are part of NPI proper. However, all sites will still be accessible through the NPI home page and also get support from NPIs partnership with the up n coming... ummm... nevermind ^_^ . IMO FF was meant to be more about original ideas and too many of them get lost in the bowels of web forum threads and are never heard about again.
The community isn't as big as it once was... and in many ways its too dispersed right now. My thinking (and that of a few others) is that if we can get what is left of Freedom Force more centralized while maintaining individual initiative... everyone would benefit. As far as original creators go... I think coming together in a manner of speaking will strengthen interest from both inside and outside of the community. I believe people would be very interested in seeing the wealth of original content which has been done for the game... and would feel encouraged to read about it, download it, add to it, etc... if they had a clearer idea of where it was.
So bottom line (finally) is that I'm in the process of setting up (or helping to set up ) sites for people and wanted to know who would be interested in going any of the the routes I mentioned. This does not exclude people who already have sites set up. This is not a project I expect to develop over night... but I am at a point that I would like to know what if anything I can look forward to for the near future.

I have been a fan of both yourself and Vertex for a long time. I have been around the Freedom Force community since the beginning. Sadly, for the majority of the time I have been a lurker but feel that needs to change.
I have loved Freedom Force since the day I bought the origional game. I have always been appreciative of the beautifully detailed meshes and skins produced by the outstanding talent associated with this site and others. I find the same magic associated with this game/community as I did when I was a child playing with my mego superheros (yes mego!!) and later in my teens playing V&V.
I would love the opportunity to participate in any way that I can. I have learned to skin and skope and would like to have my origionals included in the NPI universe.
Please count me in on anything that supports the community I appreciate so much!!

Like SCD, I was a lurker well before I actually registered. I've got a lot of appreciation for both the community as a whole, and for it's individual members. Regardless of what personall issues pull me away from the boards, I will always keep finding my way back. I don't have much to offer (limited skinning/skoping skills) but anything i can do to help the community 'spark', feel free to ask.
Although I've already made prior arrangements for my skins and such, I fully support what you're trying to do. And you (or at least Vert) knows that I'm gonna be contributing in a slightly different fashion a little down the road.
You and Bobby are two of my favouite peeps in the community so I'd love to help out also. I've made a few (primarily mainstream) skins and skoped meshes (as well as a few modifications to existing ones) that I'd like to contribute. I've been a bit shy regarding my skins especially but I think they're ready to see the light of day. PM me with info if you like.
I think hosting or having a network of links on original content made for the game is a cool idea HQ. I for one would certainly be very interested to look, read and even download them. I hope many people will take the opportunity to join and contribute. Really looking forward to it. :)

I already said this on the other board, but I'm up for this if you want me. I've got on a couple of Mainstreme characters on my immediate to-do list at the moment, but I have a bunch of ideas for my Influx stuff (which pretty much fits into any major Superhero universe, heh) that I might even do while working on my meshes whenever I get a skinning bug.
I am also in if you are interested. I focus mainly on originals, but I have done a few mainstream skins.
Well, I don't usually do originlas (although I've posted a few pics in The Skin-O-Rama lately), but I run a Champions game, so I have pages and pages and pages of super-villains, and I've been creating comic book characters since I was 8. Provided real life doesn't take a turn for the better (I get a job), or for the worse (you don't want to know. I don't want to know), I'm interested.
Originals have always been my favourites.
It's just too bad I don't do jack anymore, heh heh. I hope many people join this endeavour, though. I whole heartedly support it.

:cool: former member have a lifetime membership As long as there is an NPI they are always welcome.
There will be an archives site set up for the works of those not active... but I do need to speak with a couple of YOU as I'm not sure as to YOUR plans. But YOU are a priority.
Again I want to say thanx to those who have expressed interest. I will be posting more info and getting with everyone individually to touch base on specifics.

It's just kinda strange to see Aly addressed in any way in the masculine sense. She's an absolute dream and 'dude' is the last phrase which comes to mind. :cool:
Dude and man are acceptable if you are from Cali :P. Had some issues with my PC & lost most of my FF stuff (but not the stuff I saved on disc AHA!), been hangin' out at Second Life(which apparently some others here did/do as well); my AV pic is my SL AV.
