I'm back to playing after a few year hiatus and am updating FFX (which I never did raealy use right). On the FAQ it referred to EZVoice. I searched the forums, looked in the mod list and googled it and other than an answerring machine program came up with bupkis.
What is EZVoice? Do you reccommend it? Where can I DL it?
Thanks!
That all depends on if you are using the original game :ff: or the second game :ffvstr:. The EZ Voice Pack Installer (commonly referred to as EZVoice) was made for the first game, but can be used with the second, if you know what you're doing. If you're running the second game, it's recommended that you get CrimsonQuill's VPMAX, as it's intended for that particular game, and will install easier.
I'd recommend it, as it adds a great many new voice packs (I don't recall the exact amount currently, 70+?), and unlocks some that are built-in.
Currently, the only place to get EZVoice is from me (I made some edits and updates to the original), or from someone else that has it (I have plans to get it hosted, but other priorities keep pushing it out of my list of things to remember). It's currently over 70 Mb, so it had to be broken up into 8 different zips to get it to fit in Hotmail. It's best installed on a game that hasn't had any changes made to either the installed voice packs or to the characters. If you would like me to send it to you, let me know your email addy, either here, or via PM (depending on how security conscious you are).
Great-I'll PM.
Thanks so much, Panther_Gunn! I appreciate the work you did!
I would be interested in ezvoice. Panther_Gunn your inbox is full. Anyone have this?
Sorry for the dealy. When I first read this, I didn't really have the time to respond. I've cleared a couple of messages out of my box, so if you want to PM me your address, I can start getting the files sent.
Question is this an up to date ezvoice for :ff: or is it the same old original or is this for :ffvstr:
It's the update I did back in 2005 to what Trainwreck originally released from the FFCP, and it's still for :ff:, but can be used for :ffvstr: if you feel comfortable installing voice packs without an installer to do the work.
Thanks for this. I do have a question though for anybody that can answer this. I noticed on the FFX site they have you reinstall after installing EZVoice and renaming the character.dat to oldcharacter.dat and ezvoice.dat to character.dat. But the file is smaller than what comes with ezvoice. Speech.dat and speech.txt also smaller than before. Plus I noticed some voice options missing after I did this like DR. Doom2. How to I go about getting EZVoice and FFX working together? Or do I have to add things to the sppeech.txt myself? Also if you have these files already merged maybe you can email me. Thanks. This is for freedom force by the way.
Actually character.dat is bigger. speech.txt and speech.dat are smaller than before after ffx.
