I recently read the latest book in the Myth series by Robert Aspirin and Jody Lynn Nye. When I read the afterword, I was saddened to learn that Robert Aspirin had passed on.
I really liked both the Myth books and the Phule's Company series, both written with co-authors in recent years. It makes me wonder if there will ever be any new books in those series or whether they will be nearly as good.
Nobody did humorous fantasy/sci-fi like Robert Aspirin, R.I.P.
:o :(
That has got to be possibly the worst news I've heard since Freddie Mercury died. Can you tell me the name of that book, and when it came out? I think the most recent one I have is Myth-gotten Gains. I know another was scheduled, but haven't seen anything. 'tis a sad day, indeed.
He was supposed to have been a guest at last year's DragonCon (he's done years past) but died before the convention. We were deeply saddened.
I haven't been a fan of his later works, especially since he started co-writing his stuff, but I still adore my copies of "Phule's Company", "Another Fine Myth", and "Duncan & Malory". The early Myth Books, btw, were regularly hidden in my lap during high school where I'd sneak a few chapters during particularly boring classes. I also used to have a copy of "Mirror Friend, Mirror Foe" which he co-wrote with George Takai, but I haven't seen it since the move. He was a very funny speaker too. He'd moved to and fell in love with New Orleans before the hurricane and was still living down there last I heard. Almost became an army interrogator at one point but he found the job distasteful, for which I am glad.

Myth-Fortunes. According to Amazon.com the publish date was November 15, 2008, but I hadn't seen it in the bookstore until this last trip.
The book before that was Myth-Chief. Myth-gotten Gains was before that one. There was another book written in between called Dragons Wild, but it doesn't have anything to do with M.Y.T.H. Inc as far as I know.
