I sure hope it has some more robot peeing jokes...
That's what really made the last one special.

In all seriousness, I am not a fan of the first film, and I am holding out hope that I like this one better... but its still doing nothing for me. Somethign about it just reminds me of the Godzilla remake... only with better CGI.

Eh, it was all about the foxy Megan Fox for me... to paraphrase what a wise man once said "... that's what I like about these movie starlets, I keep getting older, they stay the same age."

Seriously though, while the first movie's story (and acting) left a lot to be desired, the all out robot-on-robot CG action was enough reason for me to see it twice. Heck, if they'd screened a version that had all the non-roboty scenes taken out, I would've seen the film three times.

Normally I would have agreed with that... but the robot on robot stuff was just so busy and "Michael Bay-ish" that it looked like hunks of metal rolling around. It was just noise (both audio and visual). It got to the point where i just didn't care. I actually thought the storyline of Shia the dork with a cool car trying to get the girl who is out of his league was a way more entertaining story.

And I know I'm gonna get some looks for this one... but Megan Fox... Eh.
Never did nothin for me.

I agree 100% Goggles.  While I found the first movie entertaining (largely thanks to the fact that I actually did like Shia's character, and wanted him to get the girl), it was all show and no stay.  The robot on robot action was so busy as to be nonsensical.  Other than a HUGE spike of nerd glee when Optimus said "One shall stand, one shall fall..." I was severely disappointed in most of the Transformers parts.  If they had more distinctive character designs, the action would have been easier to follow, but as it was...noise is a good way to describe it.

No "Micheal Bay is ruining my childhood" comments? I'm disappointed in the internet.
I wasn't a big fan of the first one, but I didn't hate it. Far worse for me was the movie going experience itself, where a little kid sitting nearby was talking throughout most of the movie. I do remember being frustrated at long it took to get the Autobots into the story though. The preview didn't really do anything for me.

I completely agree. It's hard to be critical of the bad elements when your brain is going "Giant robots! WHEEEEE!"

Also, I am continually infuriated when stupid little kids say they didn't like Bumblebee and wanted to see Hot Rod instead.

On a related note, "cast" list has been revealed.

Spoiler
Wasn't Wheelie an annoying Autobot back during G2?  Looks like he strolled over to the dark side.

Arcee is on the list.  Hmmm...

For some odd reason, I like the idea of Soundwave as a communications satellite.

Yeah... I still can't get over the "switch" myself.

Ugh.

I never liked Wheelie.  Let's hope he gets the "Jazz" treatment.

Yeah! He should be the most beautiful vehicle of all time, Pontiac Solstice. With Jazz not being in the sequel, that will be one character sorely missed.

Bit of a necropost, but I wanted to tell you guys what happened tonight.
I went to the theater to see Night at the Museum 2 with my friend (we were also going to check out the new Hooters location in Seoul, funny cause my friend who suggested it is about as straight as a french horn)
He got there first and said they were laying down the red carpet, and had a big stage set up on the roof/pavillion of the mall.
Turns out there was a Transformers event, and even though it was raining quite a bit I got to see Megan Fox, Michael Bay and Shia LeBouf in person. Megan was pretty hot, and had a nice black dress on (people always say she's too skinny, but i disagree, she's a good size in person) she was the most energetic of the three too, considering it was 10pm and raining.  Michael Bay himself looks like a movie star, and Shia looked a bit tired,  he's actually shorter than I thought.

I got to the event a little late, so i missed some stuff. but apparently everyone who registered earlier and was standing in the cordoned off areas will be getting free tickets. Michael Bay made a promise at the end, saying everyone was so patient for waiting in the rain.  Good for him for saying that.
Being one of the very few white people there (only my friend and i from what i saw) I was able to yell out "I love you Megan Fox!" and got quite a few chuckles.

Oh, BTW Night at the Museum 2 was pretty funny.  not rolling in the aisles funny, but pretty good. Hank Azaria is great.

Haven't seen the movie and don't especially plan to. But, I do appreciate a well-written, sort of Dave Barry-style review and like it when the review is entertaining even if it implies the movie being reviewed may not be. http://io9.com/5301898/michael-bay-finally-made-an-art-movie
