I am looking for some free screensavers to jazz up my comp. I am interested in the aquarium ones and the like or just whatever people think look cool. My local best buy, which is now pretty much the only place for any type of software that I know of in Utah doesnt have many interesting ones so I was wondering what you all use? Or if you know of a decent one for sale that can be trusted etc. :)
http://electricsheep.org/ (http://electricsheep.org/). Your computer communicates with others over the internet, and the more you talk, the more animations you get. It's phenomenally trippy.
Their screensaver isn't that impressive compared to some of the snazzier ones on the net, but if you go to the Rosetta (http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/) site (a non-profit organization), sign up, and download the free Boinc software (you'll need that to run the screensaver), you can use your computer's idle processing time to investigate tertiary protein structures (it uses distributed computing) and potentially help research treatments for AIDS/HIV, cancer, Alzheimer's Disease, and Malaria. Cooler than a virtual aquarium, IMHO.

primordial life is the name of a fun screen saver. it's a demo, but it works. sprite based graphics, very basic, but an actual genetic evolution simulation!
