I was thinking about coming up with two attributes that could protect a character from blind attacks - one for protection against blinding flashes of light (flash goggles) and another to protect against darkness or smoke bombs (infrared goggles). Then, I'd need a way to distinguish between those two different blinding attacks. So, I came up with two Power Swaps. You can choose to swap an attack for either "darkness" or "flash" and the appropriate attribute would protect the character from one of these blinding attacks. I also added in the ability to make the attack persistent (such as a smoke bomb that takes a while to dissipate). Anyone that passes through the area of effect gets blinded. If they leave the area of effect or when the duration ends, the blind state is removed. You can also choose what FX plays at the area of effect. You can only choose the persistent option if you set it up as an area attack by swapping empathy, displace image, or cloak, or if you set it up as an explosive projectile by swapping limeylure. If you swap the normal Blind state for one of these Swaps, then it will only affect one target and not be persistent, but will still be affected by the attribute that protects against that specific Swap you chose.
So, for those of you brave enough to want to try it, here's the code:
Copy this bit into your ffx2.py file and save:
I showed an example with Dr. Mid-Nite. Put "Yes" if you want the power to be persistent. Next, is the name of the FX effect that will play in the area of effect that is from the Resources tab in FFEdit. And, last is the radius of the area of effect. When characters get within the radius of the center of the area of effect, they get blinded.
Remember you need to add the two attributes to FFEdit and because the swaps are in the ffx2.py file, it won't be in the FFXCC. You'll need to manually add the swap line to the ffxcustom.py file, like so:
This is pretty neat, TMX. I don't dare try it though because I'm still grappling with...um...er...grapple. :) Well, I got sidetracked with Dawn of War, too.
Oh man... I thought this was thread devoted to talking about me. :(

LOL! Some people have really big heads. But I guess that helps their Goggles to not slip off! :D
I need them to protect myself form all those Smoke and Flash attacks....
Personally I wear ruby colored glasses...
oooooooooooooooooooooh the world is so pretty!
