Season 8 thread (http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?topic=48529.0)
New episode this Thursday I believe, continuation of the Doomsday storyline.
When I first heard that Smallville was going to have a storyline with Doomsday I was almost ready to call it quits. That is until I saw that they cast Sam Witwer. Then I see that they did a Hulk thing with the character and I started to like it. I am still frustrated that Welling will not put on the suit and give the fans what they have been waiting for years to see.
Im definitely looking forward to Smallville I've been watching it since episode 1 and well Im still in love  Ummm... yeah I said it lol(sits back down in the back of the class)
Rumour is there will be another season.
Even better is that this is the Legion episode, written by Geoff Johns, which is what I have been waiting to see.
Smallville Gets Zatanna (http://blog.newsarama.com/2009/01/22/smallville-gets-zatanna/)
So that's how they'll keep the show going for another season.....
Smallville meets Baywatch.
I think this lady should play Zatanna.

In addition to Zatanna, the Toymaker will be making an appearance. In just a couple of episodes. Darkseid has also been mentioned as a possibility, although I personally think he would be better reserved as a season 9 main villain.
Most of the cast, by the way, are contracted for a ninth season already, so it looks all but certain. There are still negotiating for Tom Welling, though.
... weird so much for the proclamation that this was definitely the last season.
I love their version of Toyman. Creepy, threatening, and keeps the toy theme without making it as ridiculous as it could be.
The Lana reunion storyline I have been less thrilled with, but at least it's over now.
I did love the heroic choice they have to make, though. Fitting.
Spoiler
I liked this episode but I don't get it. Isn't Clark suppose to fall in love with Lois? I don't see how that is possible when he is still very much in love with Lana and her with him. The only thing keeping them apart is the fact that Lana's nano-suit is irradiated with Kryptonite. Should they ever figure out how to get rid of the kryptonite Clark would run back to Lana faster than a speeding bullet. Also shouldn't he BE Superman now anyway? How old is he suppose to be right now in the show? I guess that Smallville is a alternate universe type twist on the Superman story. That's the only thing that makes sense.
Um, you forget some spoiler tags there, buddy. I was very careful not to mention the twist you just spoiled.
In any case, that's what I meant about not liking the whole Lana's return storyline. The Clark/Lois dynamic will pick right back up now, though.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Crap, very sorry about this. I totally forgot the spoiler tags. I really hate being spoiled myself and hope I didn't do it to others.
Warner Brothers just officially annouced that Smallville was renewed again by CW based on the ratings of this season..
And Tom Welling finally signed his contract for a NINTH season of Smallville but gave no hints that he might finally be willing to don the cape and tights or not.
In other news, Supernatural also was renewed for another year too...

9 years of a show like Smallville is pretty amazing. And I've been pretty happy with this season, other years I probably wouldn't have cared if it ended.

Actually, it's ninth and tenth. Warner's policy is for two-year contracts. Since he had originally signed an eight year contract, requiring him to sign a new one, he is now contracted for a season ten, should there be one.
Most of the other stars, however, renewed their contracts last year, meaning their contracts expire at the end of season 9.
