Title: Mac-ification
Post by: BentonGrey on December 24, 2008, 05:50:47 PM
So, I want to get a Mac user FF2 for Christmas (a late gift) so that this person can play my little project, but I don't know what all goes into making a mod playable on a Mac.  I found this in the archived forum:

But the programs referenced are no longer available.  Also, is there anything else I need to know?  Ideally I'd like to pack the DCUG and anything else my friend needs on a DVD and mail it to him, along with (I presume a Mac) copy of the game.  Any advice, my friends?

FFvsTTR was never released for the Mac. If they're on an Intel Mac, there are different solutions, though: First, they can of course use Windows from the Bootcamp partition, if installed. Alternatively, you'll need either a reverse-engineered Windows API solution like Wine/Crossover Games and pray it work (didn't for me) or use virtualization. I have yet to spend much time using it, but the otherwise very buggy (?) Parallels Desktop 4 virtualization app has looked top-notch on running FFvsTTR on the Mac so far.
