pink charact. question

just wondered if having to many meshes in the character file could cause characters in the rumble room to be pink.when they show up this way i check them to see if all their tga's are there.sometimes they're not but other times they are all there.ive just resently upgraded with a new graphic card and mother board but i had this problem before too.any ideas?
