Title: Hello There!
Post by: Captain Blasto on February 06, 2009, 07:43:42 PM
Hello,

I just bought FF2, and am interested in skinning and meshing. I saw the Tips and Tutorials in the Skins section. Are there any more pointers I need to know?

Also, is there any extra things I need to play the game? I saw FFX. What is that? Thank you for your help.

Howdy!  Welcome to the community!  There are tons and tons of great things that you can find for the game, so it really depends on what you're interested in.  There are some great mods, tons of skins and meshes of just about every character available, and more.  As far what you NEED...well, other than photoshop (for skinning) or Max (for meshing), you don't really NEED anything else, but I highly recommend downloading FFX.  It adds lots of new attributes and all kinds of other cool things that expand the FF experience.  For example, in the latest edition, you can even select an attribute that will allow your hero to call a vehicle, hop in, and drive around the map.

Welcome to the boards Captain. I hope you find everything you need. The best way to learn is to ask questions, and there are some great skinners and meshers here who are awesome when it comes to helping out others. There is also Nifskoping. Nifskope is a great tool that is used for alterning existing meshes.

All the info you should need about Nifskope is here. But if you have any other questions, check the hexxing forum. Johnny Patches, Miguelyanke,  Blkcasanova247, Zivon23 and others could give you all sorts of great advice there.

Welcome to the boards, Captain! Keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, and remember, don't feed the Sharkmen! ;)

you might also check out the Master mesh list in the Requests forum. It's not as accurate as it once was, but it is still one of the most useful resources around.
