Custom fx vanishing from FFEdit/ Not showing up in FF/FFX

I have  FF which I installed on my computer on yesterday along with v1.3 patch for Vista compatibility.
I also downloaded and installed FFX Squared v2.6 and EZFX 5.1 (So far so good... FF and FFX mod are working perfectly).

Today, I tried installing some custom fx's from the fxforce website and followed exact directions from the readme file located in the custom fx folder. Today, I also downloaded FFEdit for FF from freedomfans.com so that I could install the custom fx's.

The problem I'm having is that the custom fx's don't show up in FFX neither FF. Whenever click back on the fx tab in FFEdit, the fx's have vanished.

What do I need to do?

some tips:

- Make sure you have the correct mod/game selected in the primary data path
- Make sure you click save before closing the editor
