Haha, well Lunar, it may not be The Avengers versus The Masters of Evil, but I think that qualifies well enough. ^_^  Great pics, and it looks like quite a fight!  You wouldn't really expect a guy named Man Grape to be so tough! :D

laughing paradox

Inspired by Ultimate Power: The Ultimates vs Supreme Power
In one corner, we have the Squadron Supreme

In the other corner, the Ultimates

Hyperion arrives at the scene attacking full out, with his Squadron behind him

Captain America and Nighthawk immediately take a disliking to each other

Inertia and Hyperion give Iron Man a devastating blow while Quicksilver watches helplessly

Nighthawk had his sights on Hawkeye right before he defeated him with some well placed throwing darts.

Quicksilver landed a finishing blow on Inertia, leaving Hyperion to finish off Iron Man while Zarda looks on

Giant Man figures he can take out a contingent of the Squadron Supreme all by his lonesome

He can't

Nighthawk feels no fear when facing a massive deity: he's just that awesome

When Hyperion finds out that Thor defeated Nighthawk, he gets angry

Zarda rushes to her man's aid

With everyone else defeated and hurt, the match comes down to Hyperion against Thor. It was a long battle and well fought and the tides turned several times before a victor emerged and the loser fell.

As you can tell from the damage, the battle was absolute chaos. Black Widow, Wasp and Amphibian were defeated very early on in the fight. Scarlet Witch was a powerhouse but was eventually defeated by Zarda. Arcanna was able to bring dopplegangers of her teammates to fight, but it was short lived since Thor defeated her soon after that, causing the dopplegangers to vanish. Blur thought he could take out Thor but he thought wrong just like Quicksilver thought he could take out Hyperion. The thing I liked about this fight is that for some reason Zarda was always by Hyperion's side, which is a lot like the comics. Unfortunately, she died at the hands of Thor and left Hyperion to fend for himself. Doctor Spectrum was spending so much time with his force field that he barely attacked, so I know I have to tweak his ai file. Thor was just too powerful to be taken down. All in all, a very fun fight.

I also want to suggest a possible theme: Female Supervillain. Let's see some evil chicks kick butt.
USAgent

For the classic fight I went with the Marvel vs DC comic issues.  Ya know, the one where they let fans decide who won the fights...blah!   Well lets see what REALLY would of happened.........

Wonder Woman vs Storm
Storm fires a mini tornado and Diana while she hurls her very sharp tiara at Storm

Sorm blasts her with a lightning bolt only to realize it wasnt enough so....

she REALLY turns up the wattage for some fried amazon!

WW wants to get up close to Storm so Storm realeases a area electric storm

Which still isnt enough and after WW lands a couple blows she picked up a rock and carefully placed it on Storms head...KO!
Storm actually lasted a lot longer that I thought, she kept WW off balance with plenty of tornados and Lightning and stayed in the air most of the time.
I'll post the rest when I get off work this afternoon.

Xenolith

The Masters of Evil vs. Alpha Flight (in their Patriotic Uniforms)

Whirlwind, Titania (not shown), the Eel, the Grim Reaper, Batroc the Leaper, and Blizzard.

Vindicator, Puck, Sasquatch, Northstar, Guardian, Windshear, and Wildchild.

In typical Marvel fashion, the speedsters leave their teammates behind.

However, under the leadership of Batroc and the Grim Reaper, the Masters of Evil stick together.

Whirlwind intercepts the speedsters.

Northstar gets cocky...bad move Northstar.

Winshear tries using his air mastery to take down Whrilwind...to no avail.

Sasquatch uses his truck masetry to take down Whrilwind...that worked a little better.

In the end it came down to Puck, Sasquatch, and Windshear vs. the Eel.  Winner: Alpha Flight!

But just to be fair, round two went to the Masters of Evil.

Just a little Seven Soldiers of Victory fun.

USAgent

Cool battle Xenolith, but you cant leave the score tied!

Back to Marvel vs DC

I think I have 30 screen shots so Ill break this down in a couple posts.

Captain Marvel vs Thor
Thor starts out with a direct lightning blast

That attack bonus isnt gonna do very good against the Majolnir in the kisser.

Marvel shows just how much one of his jaw busters can do

In the end Captain Marvel was victorious, he used a punch and sprint tactic to keep Thor off his feet, he would punch him in the air and sprint to him just to do it again before Thor could get up.  Marvel was just too fast and had better body armor than Thor.
spider-man vs Superboy
Heat vision vs Spidey webs!

Conner follows up with a energy shockwave blast

It came down to mostly the fists of these two, with Conner winning but Spidey took him to the distance
Robin vs Jubilee
Blinding fireworks vs a bat-a-rang

Robin chucks a stun grenade while Jubes fires off a hot firework ball.   The whole fight they stood at a distance from each other only using ranged projectiles, even when blinded Robin still didnt use his melee moves, which made this fight a very very close 2-1 Robin victory.  If Robin used his melee moves it would of ened quickly for Jubes.
Flash vs Quicksilver
There was tons of this...dodge, dodge, dodge.........

Quicksilver started getting in more hits so Flash knocked him away with a huricane

And followed up quickly with a speeding bullet!   But surprisingly Quicksilver won this fist, I think mostly due to him having a slight endurance advantage and his multi hit keyframes hits a couple more times than Flashes
5 more fights to post!

USAgent

Silver Surfer Vs Green Lantern
This one is gonna be a laugher , Lantern doesnt have a chance......does he??

Both opponents charge up, Power Cosmic vs Power ring

Lantern actually connects first and surprisingly takes off a large amount of damage!

Surfer Blast back only to be blocked by Lanterns force field.  With Lantern's shields up he continues to bombard Surfer with a variety of attacks and is actually winning most of the battle!

But his shields dont last forever and a few Cosmic blasts are more than enough to KO Lantern.
Even with his variety of attacks and impenatable shield (which is one thing I dont like with FFv3R) he just couldnt match Surfer's 9 endurance, body armor and Powerful cosmic blasts, but he did put up a good showing.   And I know I didnt use Hal jordan like I think the comic did, I just used whatever Green Lantern I have for my JLA team.
Ironman vs Steel
Steel's piercing projectiles cant get through Ironman's shield (which he overused way too much even though I dont have a energy reserve for him in his AI file)

Ironman lobs a smart bomb at Steel.
This match was no contest, Ironman all the way with his Pulse beams, Unibeam, bombs, sonics, Repulsors, ect..... Steel only has crushing and piercing attachs with did little damage against Ironman.  Ironman wins by a landslide.
USAgent

And the last ones.......

Captain America vs Batman

Bat-a-rang vs Shield!
There was alot of this during the fight, Cap would deflect attacks with his shield and Bats would use his agility to dodge Caps attacks.  Cap ended up winning 2 for 2, he would use his shield to deflect alot of Bat's various bat-a-rangs and a number of them would fly back at Batman, and the deflective explosive Bat-a-rangs took a toll on Bat's health.   And when it came to melee fighting, batman ran away from Captain America quite a bit to get to a safe distance to throw Bat-a-rangs. Probably because the AI knew Cap had higher strength than him, Bat;s did get in a few combos but most were deflected from Caps shield and chainmail, while Batman doesnt really have any defences besides agility.
Aquaman vs Namor
Aquaman attacks with a telepathic attack that blanks Namor....

Setting him up for a arm spear jab!

But Aquaman was overmatched in the strength department and ultimatly couldnt go toe to toe with Namor and lost 2 matches in a row.....easily

Sorry Benton, but Aquaman couldnt summon a giant whale to land on Namor in this battle!
Superman vs Hulk

I did this battle awhile ago and will just recycle the screenshots
Heat vision tries to fry Bruce, but the Hulk is extremely invunerable to heat damage.

Supes and the Hulk connect at the same time with powerful melees....

But with Hulk's defensive mechanism set to strength he caused quite a bit more damage than Superman, and Hulk won 3 in a row.  Hulk won due to his healing factor, defense mechanism , and immunity to Supes heat vision
And finally.......

Lobo vs Wolverine!
This time with no stupid fan voting!
Well unfortunaly I couldnt get any good screen shots of these guys due to the fact that Lobo TOTALLY destroyed Wolvering very fast!  I ran this battle 5 times just to get some decent shots but this is all I got.

Wolverine manages to get a gut shot in

But Lobo decided to insert his chain hook in in the side of Wolverine's neck!

Just like it should of been, this was no contest at all.   Even one time (with the map I used) Lobo ran into a group of police first and focused his attention toward them all the while Wolverine hacked away at his back, Lobo them decided to see who was the flea that was pecking at his back and promptly leveled Wolverine with a flurry of attacks
And that was finally it, Marvel vs DC Freedom Force style!

laughing paradox

Great shots, USAgent. I like that you decided to take on the major fights of Marvel vs DC. Captain America deserved to win that fight! And it's so obvious that Lobo annihilated Wolverine. Silly fanboys and their choices.

Xeno, I dig those pics. I like your choice in roster for the Masters of Evil. I'm actually surprised that the Masters of Evil didn't win both times. Which character of yours is stronger, Titania or Sasquatch?

Xenolith

Sasquatch has more Endurance than Titania, but they have the same Strength, Invulnerability, and Body Armor.  They are pretty much the same.  He can take a few more punches.

Panther_Gunn

I have an entry for this week, but the posting will be a little delayed, as I've been mondo busy with Christmas preparations.  It's *mostly* done, minus the captioning, at about half the pages of the last one.  ;)

Panther_Gunn

Awright, here we go:

(I couldn't decide which cover I wanted to go with, so here's the alternate.)

I took a few small liberties with this one.  All of the Legionaires in this battle were involved with the battles, as a whole, just not all at the same time (Chameleon Boy was on trial/incarcerated at the time, explaining his absence).  I left out Bouncing Boy, Dream Girl, and Dawnstar, as they really wouldn't be contributing much besides a being a meat shield.  Also, the biggest thing I did was to simulate Darkseid controlling things from afar, and the Legion being a little clueless about what was going on, I took active control of the Servants.  If I hadn't, it would have been a much shorter, and much less interesting, battle.  Here's how it went down.

For the next week's topic, I suggest a Monster theme.

This thread is excellent! And, that Great Darkness battle is right from some of my favorite comics.

So this week's theme seems to be Sidekicks and I'm all for it. I dig USAgent's group of pics and I tried to figure out who I had that would be considered sidekicks. This inspired me to pit two characters against each other who also have come into their own right: Jubilee and Batgirl.

Let's fight!
Jubilee and Batgirl faced each other down on the mean streets of...wherever they are. They each attacked simultaneously.

Jubilee got a quick lead, blasting Batgirl with a good amount of plasmoids.

Batgirl fights back with a batarang but she was at an early disadvantage.

Jubilee keeps delivering the pain.

Jubilee tried to run away to lose Batgirl but she got stuck in an alley. Uh-oh.

Batgirl swings down and knocks Jubilee out, showing her who's boss.

It was a fun match and I had no doubt that Batgirl would eventually win, though it really did come close.
great choice of fighters in your match!!!

But Jubilee will always win in my book ;)

Xenolith

So, I'm pretty happy with my Dr. Doom build.

Take that, Superman!

Ha ha, she was very close to winning! Thanks!

Great additions to this thread: I'm a big fan of the Legion so that was great to see, Panther. And you can never go wrong with Superman eating some dirt. :)

I'm pretty certain that this week's theme will be Animals, so I'll work on that soon.

BentonGrey

Man, I'm a terrible person!  Haha, sorry guys, I was away over the break, and since I came back I've been really distracted with DCUG stuff.  So, I owe y'all a 'classic battle' and a declaration of a new topic, huh?  Well, since everyone seems pretty satisfied with the Animals topic, we'll go with that.  My recommendation for next week is "Nemisis" any hero fighting their arch enemies!

laughing paradox

Animal Fights!

I chose Spiders vs Snakes.
Spider-Woman, Arachne and Black Widow get a tip that someone's going to rob the warehouse.

It ends up being members of the Serpent Society!

Arachne weaves her web

Rattler gets a face full of web while Spider-Woman flies head on into battle.

The battle gets going very quickly.

Spider-Woman gives Cottonmouth a blast of Venom Blast.

The Serpents gang up on Arachne

The Widow Sting stuns Black Mamba

Arachne takes advantage of the set-up and knocks Cottonmouth in the back

The fight continues

Black Widow is the sole victor

I ran this battle three times and the Serpent Society won the first round very quickly. The second round belonged to the Web Women. They took out Black Mamba very quickly and that made a major difference in the fight. The final battle was really close, with Diamondback and Black Widow being the only ones left but Widow took the win with a final Widow Sting. It was a fun fight.
My choice for the next theme is: Super-Villainesses...s? Heh.

BentonGrey

Excellent screenies there LP, I'm really sorry that I've let this get so dreadfully behind guys, but that's what happens in grad school, stuff gets forgotten amid the hectic pace.  I really enjoyed your running commentary with this, and you've captured the action quite nicely!

I happened to have a little time today, so I finally uploaded the pics I took nearly a month ago.  This one goes under classic comic battles.  We've got the JLA VS. AMAZO.  I wanted this to be comic accurate, so we've got Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Martian Manhunter representing the League.  Unfortunately, I forgot to compensate in Amazo's powers, so he had the abilities of Superman as well, meaning he sort of stomped on the League.

The android faces off with several Leaguers.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo1.jpg

The Flash and Wonder Woman corner AMAZO...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo2.jpg

And they open up with everything they've got!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo3.jpg

But he shrugs it off, only to be triple teamed, and stunned by J'Onn's telepathic attacks!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo4.jpg

Unfortunately for the League, J'Onn won't get to try that trick again as AMAZO burns him down with some heatvision that...he...shouldn't really...have....
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo5.jpg

But, even a weapon that travels at the speed of light has trouble catching Crimson Lightning!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo6.jpg

AMAZO turns GL's own ring against him!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo7.jpg

And Hal strikes back...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo8.jpg

Is the tide turning?
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo9.jpg

AMAZO wades through blast after blast, turning his heatvision on the Emerald Crusader...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo10.jpg

And another Leaguer falls...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo11.jpg

Aquaman and Flash ground the android again...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo12.jpg

And Arthur tries to fry his brain!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo13.jpg

But he simply can't get through the combination of GL's shield and Supes' invulnerability!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo14.jpg

With Aquaman down, it's up to WW and Flash, but things aren't going well...
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo15.jpg

Can the magic lasso turn the tide?
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo16.jpg

Not likely, as a burst of aquatic telepathy leaves Flash vulnerable just long enough for an artificial pounding.
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo17.jpg

To the bitter end!
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/amazo18.jpg

From the first few minutes, there wasn't a whole lot of doubt as to exactly how this match was going to end, and there weren't any surprises as AMAZO finally managed to put down both of his remaining opponents.

I agree that the coming week's theme should be femme fatales, the female set of supervillains!  I'll try and put some screen caps together this weekend.

Blitzgott

Damn! Your Amazo is hella powerful, Benton. To think he'd come out of a scrap with some of the JLA's finest without a scratch is really impressive.

Great thread!

BentonGrey

Haha, thanks Blitz, I probably need to re-think him a bit.  Still, I've taken him down when playing as the JLA, it ain't easy, but it IS possible, so I suppose he's not necessarily over-powered.  I'm afraid the Flash can't really do much against him, thanks to Supes' invulnerability, but both WW and Aquaman have the ABILITY to hurt him, even if it's not by a whole lot.

BentonGrey

Forgive the double post, but I had a bit more free time today and I thought I'd try and make up for my being a bum with another set of screenies!  So, without further ado, here are the Femme Fatales of the DCU (G?), including: Giganta, Lashina, Mad Harriet, Stompa, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Circe, Star Sapphire, Cheetah, Tigress, Poison Ivy, and Livewire.

A large knot of our deadly beauties make the mistake of watching while Circe casts a spell:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem1.jpg

While catwoman sinks her claws into Harriet:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem2.jpg

And our other feline foes square off:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem3.jpg

The next street over, there's a three-way stand off:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem4.jpg

Circe's magic sows confusion, while Harley seeks out easier targets!:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem5.jpg

An idea that Mad Harriet shares...or maybe she's just crazy:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem6.jpg

Stompa starts the ground to shaking, and sends Circe flying, while SS plays it smart and snipes from afar...but what's that?  Look out, because here comes Giganta!:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem7.jpg

Circe's in a tough spot, but it looks like SS is still fighting from the fringes:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem8.jpg

Meanwhile, Lashina and Ivy doubleteam Livewire, but will it be enough?:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem9.jpg

And Circe just can't seem to catch a breath long enough to cast a spell!:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem10.jpg

Ivy lines up for a shot, but what good are arrows against Apokolyps technology?:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem11.jpg

To my complete and utter surprise, Tigress took Cheetah down relatively quickly, and then she turned her claws on Livewire...mistake!:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem12.jpg

After doing away with Ivy, Lashina, and the latecomer Tigress, Livewire comes beam to beam with Sapphire who had just finished off Stompa and the rest:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem13.jpg

In the end, bad game mechanics prevailed, as the energy material type's weakness to electricity decided the match in the favor of that grinning blue Superman villianess....Livewire!:
http://www.inaneasylum.org/users/bentongrey/Default/fem14.jpg

This was a fantastic match to watch, with a lot of surprises and upsets.  The one that really rang my bell was Tigress beating Cheetah, who is faster, stronger, tougher, AND does more damage than her.  I can't figure it out, but this is the second one of these matches in which Tigress has pulled out an unexpected win.  Also, I was very surprised by Giganta going down so early, but it was partly because she didn't grow to her full height (I've got to change her AI), and the fact that she was constantly getting blasted by Sapphire.  Another surprise was Stompa's victory over Circe.  I thought for sure Circe would slap down that Helga wannabe fast enough to make your head spin, but Stompa just stayed on top of her, never giving her a chance to get off a spell.  Ivy also stayed alive a lot longer than I thought she would, thanks in part to staying between Lashina and Livewire.  All in all, it was a great match, I hope y'all enjoy it!
