Help with some character ideas

So I've been churning this idea around in my head for a while... I'm planning on making some new amalgam type characters, and the star is going to be Bat-man  a batman spider-man amalgam.
The story goes like this:
Young Peter Parker was the heir to Parker Industries, his parents were gunned down in front of his eyes when he was eight years old, he grew up in the loving care of his Aunt May and the family butler Alfred, but he was a depressed young boy (kinda goth/emo, if you will) He was living a solitary teenage life (living up to the total geekdom of normal marvel PP) until while on a school trip he was bitten by a radioactive bat.
This would give him a "bat sense" using echolocation, and he would grow claws that allow him to climb walls. and yeah, improved balance agility and strength too.  He's also a genius too, so when he built his suit, it kind of amplifies his powers and it has glider wings on it too,  so he can kind of fly short distances (He'll be on a modified Baron Blood mesh, with "ultimate style" proportions)

While this was happening, Parker Industries was slowly bought out and taken over by former partner to Parker's dad, Norman Osborn.  He takes the company int osome ambiguous territory with chemical testing and exposes himself to some formulas,  he becomes entirely insane, but can still maintain control of the company (barely),  think Norm in the new Thunderbolts comic.  but with a LOT more Joker thrown in.   and add some mystery thinking that he was responsible for Peter's parent's deaths (a la Burton's batman)
For a name for this guy... i dunno  The Grinning Gremlin,  or maybe the Saboteur,  (keeping in mind the mishief associated with goblins/joker) - here, two mesh ideas come to mind,  one is that of a deranged businessperson, another is a glider riding madman, maybe like the armored movie goblin

Another potential villain would be a cross between Chameleon and The Riddler.  maybe calling him Mr. E  or Mr. Who. I'm thinking of having a riddler mesh with bowler cap,  but the face is plain white,  with maybe a single ? on the face

Then of course there are all of the Animal Totem villains that could be made too,  like Killer Croc/The Lizard

So for storyline ideas,  since Pete's an outsider high school kid, there's tonnes of material there, plus he's known as being wealthy, so some girls might be attracted to that.  but at the same time his family business is being undermined so there'd be money trouble stuff too.
He'd actually be a kid scientist too (like how old-school spidey would make lots of modifications to his web spinners) so he'd be able to get cool gadgets like batman too.
and there would definitely be problems with the media - he'd be labeled a menace, etc.  based on rookie crimefighting mistakes and whatnot.

so, what do you think?

I like it!

Bats and Spidey provide an interesting amalgam because they both have what each other want - Peter has no money and will always struggle with it, but has the loving step-family that Bruce never had. A lot like Ron Weasley and Harry Potter, now I think about it. :)

Your Peter here seems to have both, the loving care of Aunt May and the family business.
I'd maybe opt to lose one - you suggested that Osborne has been buying the business out from under him, the alternative would be Aunt Mays death in his first adventure I guess.

Random suggestion: a Doc-Ock-a-like analogue with a half-cyborg face and a random number generator that displays a giant red LED zero or 1 on his chest when activated, visually representing the struggle between his buried humanity and the evil AI in his circuits. Binary something.
Binary barnacle... no... Bit Something? Killswitch?

Thanks for the input!
I've recently re-watched spider-man 1 (theres a video room in my school for kids between classes and stuff) and Osborn's motivation came from losing his company...  so i think I'll take you up on that idea for Aunt May biting it.  Lets have Parker Industries buy out Oscorp, Norm goes nuts,  gets super powers and kills Peter's parents (lose the whole Aunt May thing)...  hmmn...

As for the Doc Ock guy,  half Cyborg face?  how about going by "Two-bit"  heh heh eh. hmmn,  there should be a sense of tragedy in his origin, as both two-face and movie doc ock are really tragic characters.

... ok i just went wikipedia surfing for a while looking into weird mathematical probability algorithms and stuff...   maybe "Bit Commitment" would be a good name - thats the cryptographic name for ensuring the outcome of a coin-flip is correct.   another name could be "Dr. Octomino" - an eight sided domino.

hmmn.  maybe i should start actually skinning before i go all out here :P

Brilliant!

I think that's a cue for another skin!

Oh yeah, sorry this is your character ideas thread, not mine ;)

hey man, binary barnacle rocks.... i imagine it as like a little sticky bomb thing,  that gets stuck to you and gant stop spewing binary numbers 0.o

Lunarman

Nah, you got it all wrong. Binary Barnacle is a hardcase-techo-crustacean out to conquer the world as revenge for his abnormal evolution.

This is a very cool idea. I love it. The Chameleon/Riddler hybrid sounds awesome and, even though it has been used, Mr. E is the perfect name. I could see him acting a bit like a conspiracy nut, always trying to solve deep, hidden mysteries, and also leaving clues for all his crimes. Being a master of disguise would only help further his goals.

Of course there's the obvious Black Cat/Catwoman amalgam.

Or how about a Scarecrow/Morbius cross? A scientist, while trying to unlock the secrets of fear through ancient knowledge learns of the root of vampirism. An old disease, long forgotten, he experiments with it, accidently exposing himself. Now he uses his own hideous appearance, combined with fear toxins, to spread terror. Throw in Man-Bat in there, too.

For some reason I want to find a way to mix Kraven the Hunter with Poison Ivy, but I think he'd work better with Ra's al Ghul. This centuries old leader of a tribe of hunters. They'd become almost Predator (yes, like the alien) like in their civilization, but still be able to maintain an air of dignity if need be. Something like that.

Who else? Uhh... Black Mask with Venom? Give him Black Mask's origin for a while, but then some time after becoming a derange mobster he is bonded with the symbiote. This would only increase his insanity and blood lust.

Etc, etc. I'm sure I could think up plenty more.

Two-Bit!

I love it!

Perfect name for a second-rate scientist with an inferiority complex fused to his own accidentally self sentient creation!

"You see Puh-P-Peter? They always laughed at me. Buh-But who's laughing now.."
FLIP!
"SILENCE! WINDOWS OF SELF DETERMINATION ARE ONLY ALLOWED ACCORDING TO THE FIBONACCI SEQUENCE! DESTROY THE HUMAN!"

Just looking at Osborne, the Grinning Gremlin.
A gremlin is sometimes used to refer to a mysterious untraceable bug that creeps into software. What if.. Osborne acts as some kind of behind the scenes manipulator whose deranged view of the world allows him to see potential catastrophe. As an actual superpower.

Like he could leave a nail on a particular spot on a roadside, knowing intuitively that it will spike the tire of a taxi driving past at 3.30pm causing it to run into a particular individual and kill them.. none of which can be traced back to him.Theres a strong suspicion he killed Peters parents or Aunt May but this can never be proved.

He never quite presents himself as an enemy you can fight, but exists to mess with Peters head and make him doubt his own sanity at times.
