Unfortunately, BB, you're just not the core demographic. As Middy said, the vast majority of people play one character at a time, at least once, and get a character to 50. You're the ONLY person I know who's been playing for over a year and doesn't have a 50. And I know over a hundred people who play.

They can't justify the development time to cater to a player profile that makes up less than 1% of the user base. At this point, there is enough low-level content to get three different characters to 30 without ever repeating a mission. Whereas, in the 35-45 range, you basically HAVE to do EVERY available mission just to have enough raw XP content to pass through. Whether you're at level 10 or level 48, the average full story arc is about 8 missions and takes, on average, a full evening of play to complete. The difference is, those 8 missions will get you a level and a half at level 10. At 48, it can be less than a bar.

The high-level content NEEDS to be filled in more. It's one of the major reasons I stopped playing. BB, I've put over 20 characters through the 1-20 content, and about 16 through the 1-30 content. And I'm STILL not as utterly bored with it as with the 35-45 content, which I've only done four or five times. I have five characters sitting in the 34-36 range because I just can't stomach doing the exact same set of missions any more.

Sorry, bub. You're going to have to accept that you are the nearly-insignificant minority. Most people, and I really do mean MOST-- I'd estimate over 95% of players-- can play and enjoy new content in the 35-50 range. It's just where most people have toons lying around at this point.

To quote a very wise man: "The good of the many outweighs the good of the few, or of the one." The many have 50s. The tyranny of the minority is a bad trap to get into given Cryptic's relatively small development team. They can only pay attention to so many segments of their market, and the rest are just going to have to put up with it, or find another game to play.

It sucks, but that's the reality at this point.

Just remember that I've been paying for three and a half years so YOU can enjoy The Hollows, Striga Island, Croatoa, and the new Faultline.  All content that was unavailable to my main.

I refuse to feel guilty because the most recent issue featured content that was available to my lvl 50 characters.

Anyway, as someone who has a gajillion alts in all level ranges, I have to agree with Spud that the 30s, and the late 30s in particular, are the most sorely in need of new content.  I see people stall out with toons around lvl 36/37 all the time.

Wrong again little Spudhopper. My highest toon (Knight Star) is only level 46, then the next is level 43 and etc. When I first started I was trying to keep all of my characters five levels apart, why so I would always have a toon to play for whatever was needed when required. I did that and am now reducing them to every three levels apart. I have been on many a team when someone posted in the chat that they had another toon they could of brought to play on the team but they were the wrong level. I have also played with alot of players that have not played their toon for awhile because they had got bored playing it so they had just quit playing for a while. I have got to play on teams with most of you but have never been called on that often so I'm glad that I spread my toons levels apart. I have not got bored playing any of my toons because once they reach their spread limit I just switched to another toon and I've been playing since the second week of the first beta of the game. By having my toons spread out, I've always been able to get on a team. Sometimes its as soon as I log on but other times I don't even get to finish my mission before being invited to join a team.

Let me chime in and say that I agree that the lvl 30+ grind sux. SUX!

Sometime in mid-October I will get my 9 month badge so I haven't been around long. That being said, I've run 3 toons through the +30 content and I am already sick of it. I can only imagine what you 3+ year people think of it.

Bring on any new content for that level range please. It's sorely needed.

Don't get me wrong... not saying no level 50+ content.  Speaking as one with some in the 20's, I'd be interested in them expanding the 30-39 content even if I don't get to it right away.

And sure, they have to pay attention to their core demographic.  But realizing that their core demographic very likely consists of gamers who will be playing Halo3 for the next six months and may not have scads of disposable income, bringing in new players and bringing back inactive players should be of some concern also.

And if they squeeze Dual Blades and Willpower into 11, well, that might give me something to dink around with until they come up with content I really like.

That said, I fully expect to jump ship if the Marvel MMORPG ever launches...

Except the core demographic for COH is not the Halo 3 types. It's the 20-50 year olds with marriages and kids. I doubt those people play Halo in any big numbers. If anything COH is the perfect game for people without disposable incomes. They can come back every 3 months and find their characters are not utterly useless. And if they are, one freespec, which they'll be almost guaranteed to have, and they're back at it. No worrying about items or anything.

You basically just described WOW.
