Marvel Civil War advice please

I'm finally getting into Marvel's Civil war graphic novels, but I'm wondering if it's necessery to get all the ones that are now in my shopping basket.
Do some of them overlap to a point where it's not necessary to read all?
Of the books I have in this list, what order should I read them in?


Civil War: Road to Civil
   
Civil War
-------- So far I imagine its best to do those first.

Civil War: Captain America
   
Civil War: Iron Man

Civil War: Amazing Spider-man
   
Civil War: Fantastic Four (Fantastic 4 (Unnumbered)

I recommend just sticking to the main series, Civil War #'s 1-7, and maybe the ancillary series, Civil War Frontline #'s 1-11. The Amazing Spider-Man tie-ins (issues 529-538) are the best satellite books IMHO, but they're not really essential to understand the main story.

I agree with Zuludelta, just stick with the actual series and Frontline. Amazing Spider-Man was good but unnecessary.

I'd have to go back and re-read it, but I might recommend Captain America as well.........I think it mostly deals with how Red Skull is exploiting the Civil War for his devious plots not with the actual war though. I'll get back to you on that one.

You should be advised ahead of time that Paul Jenkins is a horrible, horrible writer and that during Civil War some characters act completely out of character. I'd love to see the Sally Floyd character suffer a slow, painful death at some point, and I'm ticked the character has my last name.

I agree with regards to Jenkins' work on Civil War that it was rather horrible.  HOWEVER, I found myself enjoying most of his work on Hellblazer.

Out of character as written by Jenkins? Yeah, I can understand that. [edited because my feeling has changed on the subject]

Jenkins is hit or miss, but when he hits the mark he's aces. The more emotional moments in his Spider-Man helped get me through high school.  I was quite depressed, so when Peter got upset, I could often resonate with some of the things he'd say.
