Enlarging a forearm

So Detourne_me has told me that enlarging the arm of the mesh would be the best way to recreate this character design: http://images.comicbookresources.com/solicits/marvelcomics/200709_advance/NEWXAX042.jpg

I'm thinking I need a large increase in both the forearm and hand, and a slight increase in the upperarm and shoulder. How would I go about that? I haven't decided on a base mesh yet but it will most likely be male_basic.

ok,  im away from home right now... so i'll try to describe you the steps from memory.

if you open up the handle node,  just keep going down throught the nodes,    like spine_.spine 1->neck->right clavicle -> upper arm, forearm -> hand
right click on forearm,  and edit transform,   then in the proportions thing in the bottom,  just make it bigger.

keep in mind though,  that if you make the clavicle bigger first, it will also make everything attached to the clavicle bigger too (the arm and hand and anything attached to it)
so I would suggest maybe attaching the spikes first and positioning them, then work youre way down the arm,  enlarging as you go.  now remember if you increase the forarm's proportions to 1.05 for example,  then  the hand and fingers would also be that large,  so you might want to change the hand's proportions to 0.98 or whatever looks best.

im pretty sure if you attach the spikes first then the will be enlarged too,  and may move a bit,  so maybe you would want to attach them afterwards (???)  nifskope stuill does wonky things sometimes.

oh by the way,  i believe 3dmaster did the beastman mesh,  but i might be wrong.

Beastman was actually done by Lord Ehmsidy, I have it now and the spikes are prefect.

The enlarging sounds like an easy procedure, I'll give it a try tomorrow hopefully. There's no rush on this project though. Ideally I'd like to see the actual comic come out before I start any skins for it.

Detourne Me makes a valid point, as anything attached to a node takes its size.  However, my experimentation also shows that lowering the size of the spikes or whatnot that are attached to a forarm to .75 would make them 3 quarters the proportion of the rest of the forarm.  With some adjustments (and patience) 1 could attach the spikes after the initial size, and modify the spike node to the appropriate size afterwards.   Hope that helps.  I used this technique on the vxSasquatch Skope I made, and I think it turned out pretty good.  Of course, that's just my opinion:  I could be wrong.  (<--Thank you Dennis Miller!)
