... George Carlin makes his way to the pearly gates.   I'm sure he had a few choice words for Death when he came knocking.   :)

If he's in heaven, I'm sure he'd be surprised into speechlessness.  Man, this bites.  Funny guy.

i must have missed this thread..i just posted this in film,tv section

Uncle Yuan

There are seven words that pretty succinctly summarize my feelings at this news.  But I can't use them here.  Or on television.  So sad.

First time I heard the 7 words sketch I was driving and it was a good thing it was a long straight and mostly empty road, 'cause I know I swerved at one point I was laughing so hard.

Guy had a great observational mind and a great wit.  I know he was up for a major humor honor, which will have to be given in memory now.

Is it just me or are the notable people dying off faster these days?

Protomorph

Just heard about this. Man, that bites. George is one of my all-time favorites.

I was thinking the same thing GG.  I feel old now  :(

He will be miss.  It's funny how there were 2 sides to him.  He was a "dirty old man" but also did the narration for Thomas the Tank Engine.  Either way I love his act!

The Hitman

Oh man. This is really sad. Carlin has always been my all- time favorite comedian. This is a real bummer.

Camma

This really brought my morning down, so sad.

I think why i really loved Carlin was for his clear vision of the truth.  Comedians often put a spin on things in life to make them funny, Carlin always portrayed the reality of the situation - funny or not - but the guy was so hilarious that it didn't matter, HE made it funny.  But I guess the point is he always gave you a different way to view things.

Ares_God_of_War

this makes me sad panda :(

I loved George. The last special I saw him in though really made me aware of how old he was getting.

I raised myself on Carlin.
It's like my father who was my hero but I never met in person died.
Now the list of people I want to meet before they die is even shorter.
