Fixing the BANG! bug?

There's a bug that's always been in FFVTR where the BANG! FX used for thug pistol shots sometimes get stuck--the effect won't stop playing, with the result that the BANG! graphic just hangs in the air for a while. Even worse, the sound gets stuck in a loop, which is slowly but surely driving me insane.

Is there any way to fix this bug using Nifscope?

So no one knows how to fix this?  :(

You'll only see it if you fight multiple characters that use that effect--for example, multiple Thugs With Guns. (The reason it drives me bonkers is that I fight a whole lotta thugs when testing new maps.)

I see this sometimes, but I don't think it's a bug exactly (if I'm seeing the same thing, that is).  When a gun thug, for example, is getting ready to shoot, but another thug steps in between he and your character, the sound and FX of the shot will cycle endlessly until something changes and he can either shoot or until he moves.

Lunarman

I've been it, but it only happens to me when the character is standing on borders ( for instance the line between the pavement and the road). If a thug stands there and tries to shoot they get a repeating animation and noise until they move.

Try extracting the gun fx from FF1 then place it in FF2 - doing this seems to look the same & it doesn't buggout

Leave it to me to not think of the simple and obvious solution.  Using the FF1 Bang! doesn't solve the problem 100%--I still get it sometimes when fighting 24 Thugs with Pistols--but it seems to cut waaaay down on the frequency of it.

WoW 24 thugs is alot - I usually have super-heroes & maybe one or two of them may have guns - Sorry it wasn't a complete fix

Well, I don't normally use 24 gun thugs ... but when testing maps I'll use 7 or 8 gun thugs, and the rest bat and bomb thugs. (I use thugs because they have the worst AI in FF for pathfinding, so if there are spots that are hard to get through, they'll find them.)
