Is there a thread that has all the links with sites than might contain FFvTR meshes and skins? I have a gigabyte or two of FF meshes/skins; but quit the newer game before the meshes and skins became widely available. Now that I am getting back into it, I would love to dl all the different skins and meshes.  :D

Unfort., no. BUT...I'll give you a rundown of some common places with FFVTTR stuff:

Heroforce 2.0- http://heroforce.freedomforceforever.com/
Renegade's Toybox- http://www.renegadetoybox.com/main.htm
Skopes and releases threads here on FR commonly feature stuff for FFVTTR
Billdamn- http://www.freewebs.com/damnagedone/index.htm
Unkoman- http://sjhftac.comicgenesis.com/misc/skins.html
Tomato- http://www.kotsproductions.com/
NPI- www.newpowerinc.com  (be aware it may be being updated as of now)

Wow...that's all that came to mind that immediately correlates with FFVTTR. But, Most of the ff1 stuff works for FFVTTR, so there's no major reason to create ffvttr only sites.

Good to know. Back when I left, there was problems with the meshes from ff1 to ffvtr something with file types, etc. I know there is a conversion program out there, but again it wasn't reliable when I left. Maybe I'll just have to move my 10 folders of meshes/skins from FF1 to FFvtr, and see what works...

Oh, and if anyone has a specific skin/mesh they want that they can't find anymore, I will be happy to check and see if I have it. 6 full bruned CDs of nothing but meshes and skins, plus the last ones before I left that I never burned for backup...

I also have the original Freedommod CDs, and backed up most of the other FF mods on CDs as well if someone has a specific title that doesn't seem to b available anymore.

You have the mod cd? This is good news indeed. There're so many missing ff1 mods I never got the chance to play that I want to at least check out like the MM mod or the history 101 mod, heh.

As for conversion, Alex's tool and NPI's (/Ian?) tool make that a bit easier now. IIRC, NPI's version is a mass program, but you don't need to convert every mesh.

You know it wouldn't be a bad idea to have sticky thread on one of these forums (maybe crossposted to a few like requests, skins, meshes) that lists all the existing content sites.

Was thinking the same thing? Would it be ok to have a sticky for links to active Freedom Force websites?

Like I did with the tutorial thread, someone will have to take the initiative and check out all these sites, note what they have, and compile a list. NPI's page of links is a good starting point and, iirc, Tommy did a list of yahoo sites...so...who's gonna do it?

pm me or email me with an ftp site, and I can ul the history 101 mod (I don't remember the MM mod?). One note to remember: a lot of the mods on these two CDs either weren't complete, or only had one mission... and a couple simply didn't work (maybe 'cause I installed ffx almost right away :) )

NPI is a great place to start. While Mad Rabbit is gone, this one still works:

There are  lot of sites that are dead, but there are a lot that are still there, too. And some of thosesites have links and I have found a couple, maybe more, that were missed by the larger lists.

can't really link to or suggest any ftp sites as I haven't come across any. Personally, I'd suggest a site like mediafire (100mb limit and you have to log in once every 2 months or have a file downloaded at least once to keep it) or googlepages for quick storage. Maybe even joining up with catwhowalksalone pending you can get permission to more permanently host said mods. For clarification, MM= Martian Manhunter. It was made by BK(eith) and it was at least five missions.

I will check out the CDs, and see what I can find. I think I remember MM now; the fire vulnerability was a big challenge to overcome in a couple of the missions.
