Sword

Did you ever read the classic books? You've got Sunny Sparkles, a kid who gets everything given to him because he's just such a nice kid, a mind controlling super genius worm, talking tigers, and a "mad" scientst friend for SHAZAM who invented an antigravity potion that made spies from seven different countries cling together in fear.

I'd think if there wasn't comedy in SHAZAM, it wouldn't be SHAZAM.

amen!

theres a reason Why Jeff Smith wrote the latest miniseries and not Frank Miller.

Shazam works better as a comedy.

Anyone read the The Power of Shazam reboot by Gerry Ordway? Grim as all hell. Geoff Smith's take on Captain Marvel is more to my liking.

Maybe Cedic the Entertainer could play Boxcar Willie? Remember his faithful manservant that couldn't read? Eh, I jest. Just cynical and bitter.

An action-comedy can still be a good movie...

Like M.I.B. for example.

Sword makes a pretty valid point, CM is called the Big Red Cheese after all.

Wasn't he called Captain Whitebread or Wonder beard at one time??

Ah well, ya see thats why I have a question mark up there.  I've only read a few of his comics, so I wasn't sure if it was good news or bad. *shrugs*

Mind you, I'm easily entertained, so if it gets made, I'll watch it either way. :D

I figure if any hero movie would be an action comedy it would be Plastic Man.

Yeah, Guy Gardner called him that back in Giffen's JL series.

And I agree with the majority here- it'll work better as an Action/Comedy.
