Toned Down Sonics

Heya folks!

I10 has new graphics for the Sonic Resonance set. I'm not a fan of them, but mostly they're ignorable... except for the dispersion bubble. The new dispersion bubble looks like you're trapped in a bubble made of orange crush. I hate it SO MUCH. >_<

Sooooo... I fixed it.



I toned everything down and colour shifted to blue. I'm deciding if I want to eliminate the static dots on the bubble... right now they're not that annoying, but only time will tell if they're the stuff whence madness comes.

As you can see from the dude behind me there, the rest of the FX are still orange. I dug around looking for the texture files for the other powers, but I can't find them. And they don't really bug me that much (some are actually kinda neat) so I doubt I'll do anything with them.

Click Here to download the new textures. Unzip them in your Coh/data/texture_library/ folder. (so they'll be in /texture_library/FX/Super... etc etc etc). If you've never installed mods, you'll need to create texture_library yourself.

I've never bothered to apply any mods, but... ye gads!  Why would Sonics be Orange?  I guess all the other colors were taken or something.

I don't have any Sonics high enough level to worry about for now, but I'll keep it in mind.

It's so that you can ask your teammates, "Orange you glad I took Sonics?"

Orange is an intense color, but for sonics? Maybe a specific sonic attack that was heavily damaging. The entire set being orange is kind of dumb.

The original effects caused serious pain for many players, so they had to change them. Besides the fire effects, can you think of any other set that uses orange as a color?

I saw this on the boards somewhere but apparently Back Alley Brawler said something along these lines: "I locked myself in a dark room and yelled until I saw colors. I saw orange."
