FFVTR exporting prob

  I'm afraid I've got a question for those out there working with FFVTR exporters in max 5.1 with CS 4.1
After reinstalling this version of max and installing FFVTR exporting tools I have tried exporting irrational's NoCapeman with no success. I've completely uninstalled max and reinstalled but keep getting the same problem. The mesh looks fine in max, perfectly normal but when I export and view in Ctool the mesh is completely invisible. The Ctool shows the animations as being there and you can select them but the body is nowhere to be seen. I also tried this with a FX mesh with particles on the head.. I was greeted with fire where the head was.. bobbing around in response to the keys.. but still no body. Anybody ever had this prob? Because I'm completely clueless how to get past this.

I can't recall seeing anything like that, but I mainly still use the ff exporters so my experience with the ffv3r ones is limited..
Have you checked your exporter settings against those in the ffv3r Art Processes Documentation? That would be my first guess.
I'd also try opening it in NifSkope to see what happens there.
Then I'd look at the material settings, if the materials aren't set right (ie if it defaulted to 'phong' rather than 'netimmerse' as the material type) I guess you could get an invisible mesh, but if it's an Irrational Max file I'd expect all that to be set up correctly..
I assume the 'note track' etc is all set up right, if you are seeing the animations are selectable, but it may be worth re-checking.
Other than that, I have at present got nothing.

Well, I guess my problem is sorta fixed....

I suppose my mistake was in trying to export an irrational made mesh :P It made sense to me for first try since it should be setup properly to begin with. I tried over and over with the same results.. everything working except invisible mesh. I even tried sKope and it showed proper skins assignments.. but no mesh.  I then said screw it and rigged up one of my meshes for FFVTR export.. voila worked wonderfully. Went back and checked everything I could think of about nocapeman after that again.. still can find nothing off whatsoever.. whatever the prob is.. beyond me.. but at least I can export my own meshes which is all that really matters in the end.

Strangeness.
The important thing is that you are back in business though.
I think that will make for a lot of very happy people, me included.
