Figure Fan

I need to get a hosting plan going for my portfolio, too.

Besides Bluehost, are there any other good cheap hosts? I wouldn't need much of anything, really.

I use Dreamhost. As far as I know, my site has never been down in the past year, although they did have one cluster go out I believe.

I've been using YRHost for years.  I won't tell you they're the best host in the world, but the price is right, particularly for a low maintenance, low traffic site.  You'll get plenty of bandwidth and disk space to work with, and for $50/year, it's a good value.

I wouldn't use them for e-commerce or anything like that, but for a simple web presence or a showcase site, they would be just fine.

I haven't had any complaints about A2Hosting. Same deal, basically: $48/year, 10GB/10GB, 99.9% uptime, etc. (they have other packages, but that's the cheapest and it's more than I've ever needed).

Important to me is that they support python CGI, as well as the older interface languages like perl, etc. (which I have basically abandoned since learning python). That may be the norm now, but it wasn't for basic packages a couple years ago, when I last looked.
