Hey folks,
Last year, I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called Freidriech's Ataxia.  It's been over a year and although things have gotten psychologically better, the disease continues to take its' toll physically.

Two runners from my church recently ran the Boston Marathon as a fundraiser for FARA (www.curefa.org).  My pastor (one of the runners) contacted the local paper and we were interviewed last week.  This past Saturday the article ran in the paper.  We're really hoping to raise FA's profile, and in turn, get more funds to the researchers working on finding treatments and perhaps even a cure.

Anyways, just wanted to share the article with the community.  I'm the very non-runner-looking guy in the middle.

And for a split second I thought it was an article about Mythbusters. You sure your first name isn't Adam, Tort?

Seriously though, sounds like your congregation is full of people like those 2 guys. Must be awesome to have a wall of support like that behind ya.

That's some good news, and thanks for linking to the article. Despite the regular exchanges we have over the comic book stuff, I'd never really been able to put a face (and much of a personal background) to you as the person.

Thanks for sending this (and the link to the organization) along, Tort.  I might have seen your friends zipping by on the course :D!  I hope and pray that FARA's efforts are fruitful.

Man you could be on Mythbuster Tort.

Very nice article though, it does a good job spreading awareness of FA at least locally.  I can say i hadn't heard of it before.
