NCSoft held another meet & greet last night. During the event they treated fans of previews of what's to come in CoX.

Quote from: CaptainCureMy wife and I went and even got to meet a SG friend IRL. Plus we met some other RL friends there who we did not know played CoH.

Check out these pics of the 2 new things we are getting before Xmas
1: City Vault, all your character and SG info online! We even got to see our characters!
2: 2 new costume sets. Jester (which we saw before) and a new one that looks a lot like the PPD hardsuit! WOOT!

Enjoy

Apparently we will see it all before Xmas. Back Alley Brawler was quoted as saying that the costume sets should hit test next week.

BTW that armor set looks sah-weeeeeeeeeet!

The City Vault sounds a lot like WoW's "Armory" thing, which is a relatively recent dealie that shows all your toons and gear online. I'd imagine the Vault's gonna be templated roughly after that, so you can take a look to get an idea of how it would work. (type in my guy's name, "Borea", to see an example of a listing).

It's one of those things that is ridiculously cool, while being utterly, utterly useless. And yet... cool. :D

The WoW one is characters and gear, with a (rather clunky) guild view. I'd imagine the CoH equivalent would be structured more heavily around the supergroups, and would let you look at people's slotting loadout.

Another feature I'd love to see: coalition web mapping. See which SGs are insular, and which are gregarious and sprawling.

Another thing it could do would be to give an actually, OFFICIAL build planner, so instead of leaning on 3rd-party tools, you could do it right inside the Vault.

And since CoH has such a focus on self-determined appearance, it could do a huge jump on the Armory's functionality by actually showing what the characters look like (Armory gives you an "archetype" portrait, which is picked based on your race, gender, class, and level range. It never looks like your actual dude. >_< ). Being able to check out your friends' costumes online would be a lot of fun. :)

There are lots of neat things they can do. I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with it. :D

Zapow

Must resists urge to make Toy Boy in COH...

I think the part of this I (and likely BAD) am/are most looking forwward to would be the badge listing. As it stands, keeping track of your badges is tedious as all heck, but this will provide a handy reference for all of your toons without having to log in as each individually.

Will the webpages list what salvage you have on each character?  That would be amazing.

One improvement I'd really love to see in the game is being able to see who's logged in as which characters before choosing which server/character to log in as.

I'm more excited about checking out people's build. I've played with some people who seem to have their characters dialed in better than me and with this I can go online and see what they are doing.

I agree.

BlueBard

I can really use some of those Jester costume pieces for some of my characters, so I'm geeked about that. :)

Looking forward to seeing what City Vault buys us.

Verfall

Ooo...new armor for Ver(s).

Camma

Me Likey.  The armor really is cool looking.

I know of one hungry-hungry clown who might need a new outfit given the jester costume pieces.
