When I first heard about the casting, I quickly downloaded a picture of him in a suit and photoshopped a pencil-thin mustache onto it.

Looked at it... "Yeah, that works."

The shot of the Iron Man armor, the casting choices, hearing them talk about it...

They are going to have to mess something up royaly to not make this the best Marvel movie to date.

Downey's gotten pretty ripped for the role, and he's sporting some impressive facial on top of being a great actor ... if the movie messes up, I don't think its going to be due to miscasting (ala Daredevil, Ghost Rider, some of the Batman movies).

This is the first Marvel film I've been genuinely excited about. I've raised a bemused eyebrow at Spider-Man and X-Men, and I've been exasperated at the horrors that were The Punisher and Fantastic Four, but never EXCITED.

My biggest reservation about Robert Downey Jr. was his filmography. He's usually a bit fey, a little doughy, and generally just not that commanding a leading actor. But he seems up to the role--ripped and intense, but still charming and bright, just like I'd picture Tony Stark.

And that armor is @$#% awesome!
