Here's a preview of a team Unkoman and I put together.
Who they are and what they are to become will be revealed in coming days.
They look pretty cool. I remember that you mentioned that it would be based on urban legends or something, but I really can't tell which ones. But I guess all that info will be revealed later. I like how "vamp"(or whatever his name is now) and the bat-boy have similar designs. All together, they look awesome.
NICE! I really like the Mothman. Great job, guys!
Phenomenal stuff guys! I've long maintained that collaborations help skinners push their bounds and provide inspiration, and here is proof! These are some of the coolest originals I've seen. I'm guessing next to the bat boy is a bat-man type mentor/hero for batboy to sidekick with. I'm also really interested in the story behind the metal suited glowing chap.
I look forward to finding out more :)
These look amazing. I'd love to see their villains!
Hmm, and things just got stranger....
Great! That's the spirit!!!
So much personnality! They need their mod!
Is this some weird alternate version of The Authority? It seems to have fairly obvious Midnighter and Apollo analogues, the winged mothy guy could be Swift because, well, wings. The scantily clad furry woman is a lot like the scantily clad metallic Engineer with some Doctor-style red glasses things (ok, so it's warpaint, but still...). The batboy, I don't know, he's, er, he's crouching. Sometimes Hawksmoor crouches? Ok, so I'm stretching that one a bit. I guess I saw the Apollo-a-like and went from there. Amazing what the mind can do if you poke it in the right direction. Oh, and the skins are great, but, you know, I figured another answer saying basically that would be kinda dull as I'm sure you know they're great.
O.o MORE!!! i want to know more!
Great to see this kind of new creative collaborations happening. They look intriguing. I can't wait to hear more!
Could it be?
Afghan Ant + Unkoman = Keith Giffen + J.M. DeMatteis
<crosses fingers>
Who!
Neat! Some really clever designs, and beautiful crisp execution. The only one I would criticize even a little is the brown butterfly guy -- he looks kind of bland next to the others. Maybe a few small accents in a different color would help him "pop" more?

From the depths of space comes the Ancient Astronaut, Ashtar Sheron. Gifted with the ability to manipulate matter, Ashtar has walked upon the Earth for a millennium healing and protecting human under various religious guises. Now that the time of the Nemesis Sun grows near, he is once again awakened to protect those he has grown to love.
   Very cool!
I agree. Very, very nice. I like the back story.
i remember an episode of the x-files where the jersey devil was a wild cave woman.is that who she's suppose to be?
Hmmm... Is the cloaked one Spring-Heeled Jack? (The urban legend, not the FR member :P)
The details and skoping of the Astronaut are phenomenal. Excellent work AA.
Really want a better look at that black caped guy, he seems cool.

Ditto.
Your skin of the Astronaut is, of course, excellent AA. I'm not really qualified to give you any feedback on the actual skilled part of the creation process anyway, but I am not really crazy about his design. The lack of pants is, I think, what throws me off. The space suit is really cool, but his bare legs seem a bit...misplaced.

I actually like that element. Its unique and makes it appear that this character is fairly powerful in some respect.
I know we haven't really been commenting here to keep more of an air of mystery about the characters but I will say me and AA discussed it and we both liked the legless thing better. Once you learn more about his character and see some other things, I think you will find it makes a lot more sense for him.
On another note, I am glad you folks are liking these guys. We've got a lot of ideas for them.
Now that is nifty. And his suit is very clever, somehow ancient but also techy at the same time.
I am loving those new characters, AA...Awesome work.
Dana
That is just amazing!
That's phenomenal. Holy peas.
Uhmm AA why don't you alpha the body and use other without that things in the hands?
I was thinkin' about that too...are the "sleeves" intentional? If not you might want to switch out the bodies. ;)
Sleeves are not intentional. One of these days I'm going to fixed that. I've just been too lazy honestly.
Also I'd like to thank Johnny Patches. He did the AA skope for me. All I did was move some things around and add additional extras.

Preying on ancient fears, The Night Stalker lurks in the deepest of shadows. An experimental medical accident cursed Dr. Ron Dillon to a
world of blackness, horror, and undying hunger. Yet, denying his newfound dark desires he has chosen to use his unholy powers to
protect the innocent, if not for for the sake of his son and his own guilt than any love of humanity.
 The mooood! . The people want a moood!
I'm curious, are all these characters based on urban legends or just original?
I like the design of this second character the most.
I wouldn't say urban legend. They are based more on myth and folklore. Basically if you're one of those people who knows a thing or two about the occult then you should be able to spot the references.
The Nite Skalker skin skates the line of generic in some spots but I really like how it turned out. It really pulls off the darkness and horror elements.
I'm not huge on the big ear things, seem a little too big, but it probably works for what you're going for.
What's the significance of the "V" on the belt buckle?
Love the cape and mask.

It is funny you bring that up but his name was original going to be Vampire but we recently changed.
what about a swirling mist/energy being called poltergeist?
Coming from someone who doesn't skin ... I'd think about changing the V on the belt buckle. I love the V motif on the chest and head piece, but I think if you're going to have letters on the hero's buckle, it has to reflect the name or group.
Are those little blood vials on his belt? Great touch.
I'd like to see a humanoid sewer dwelling alligator-style character.
I like him very much, even though your colour scheme is close he still looks interesting and vibrant.
We actually have all the characters and the script planned out so no additional characters are going to be added or they would have to be worked into the story. Sorry, guys.
story? What. Are. You. Talking. About? :o

There might be a mod
if we can find someone to help code it...pretty please anyone...
Night Stalker is pretty sweet! Good work guys. :D

Well, I do, or at least the names let me know what these are based on. A pretty cool idea.
For the reference of those less familiar:

Night Stalkers are harder to find information about, mostly because of tv shows and movies of the same name, but here's an interesting form thread on the subject.

Breaking her race's code to remain secret; Lady Sasquatch comes from the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest to protect an increasingly unstable modern world. With her brute strength and endurance, she has vowed to protect and guide those who exploit the Earth.
Wow...a bare butt in FR? :P
Very nice work on skinning the fur. However the skoping looks a bit 'forced' on the chest hair. But I understand this is a limitation of the process.
Nice
She was my least favorite of the designs you previewed, but the skin is, of course, excellent. I really like the work on her face, and that red line right there is a really wonderful accent. I LOVE the close up shot there where you can tell it is like warpaint. The hairy wildwoman thing just doesn't work for me too well, but we'll just say that is because my imagination is limited. :D
I LOVE the Nitestalker skin, though, without qualification. I especially like those little vials of "blood" at his belt. He reminds me of the Confessor from Astro City, and that is a very good thing. (although, seeing as I'm working with that book, that is hardly surprising as it is always on my mind).
I'm not really digging the torso for Lady Sasquatch ... I don't think the nude back half works.
Yeah its a bit of a blah design - could be mesh restrictions playing her though. Skinning wise it's good. I like the red band across the face. I do like the idea though, I get kind of a Wonder Woman vibe from it.

Roaming the West Virginia countryside is the mysterious creature of legend known only as the Mothman. Silent seer, it has been forced to bare witness to disaster and human hardship, having no choice but to stand idly by while its terrible predictions occur. This newest vision, however, simply cannot come to pass.
Diggin it!
And for more information on the legends behind it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothman
I figured that was unnecessary for the Sasquatch.
Using legends and stories like this for a supergroup is brilliant, by the way.
Vampire is a better name I'm diggin' this too!
Oh neat. Lookit how we haven't updated in forever.
Well get used to it. We'll probably do a massive update later.
I like the massive update bit. Not the later bit, though.
Unko's done some amazing work and I really need to finish up a few more.
