Title: Old Silver Surfer live action short from 1994

The computer animation is somewhat cruder than the modern movie, but not as far off as you'd think.  Also interesting that they made the Silver a lot more muscular than in the recent movie.

You know it's from 1994 cause the kids all have plaid shirts tied around their waists

That CGI Silver Surfer sequence must've cost quit a bit back then, especially for a student film. I remember having to rent a Video Toaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Toaster) to do the animations/effects for an instructional video I was making for a local hospital's Pathology department back when computer animation programs weren't readily available outside of big studios. Practically blew the whole budget on the rental.
