Yup. It's just me being lazy at the time. It's an easy fix.
The last Captain America sheild I did came out pretty edgy, even more so than the Hydra shield. How would you fix something like that? Or would I have to redo the shield completely?

Nah...just have to trace over the original layer with the lasso tool(or copy by eye), fill, add a few more touches (shading/highlights), and it's done. Cap's original shield is all circles so you just need use the elliptical marquee tool at different layers.

if a may, not to overstep my bounds, if you also use the pen tool and draw like a outline on your edges you can help get rid of jagged line and it appears a lot cleaner

Well, C6, your work has always been awesome. There's not much to say.
Wolverine's expression is very true to the character.
Thought you said something about transfering your Quasar skin to Syn's new mesh? :(
Speaking of Quasar, i didn't notice it last time, but you did an awesome job making his hair look 3d with that shadow. Nice bit of illusion there!!
Wolverine looks great, but one thing that bugs me on him is the stubble. It looks a little too clean-cut around the edges for him. I'd mess it up a little, unless you did it like that for the sake of in-game clarity. Also, the top part of his mask looks amazingly real!

I've been using photoshop for a few years now, and I can't use the pen tool for @#$%. :(
That's one of my biggest faults. It would make parts of skins SO smooth.
The Spawn movie was on television today... I thought of you C6 hehe... but I must say your skin probably looks more realistic than he did in the movie haha.
I'm using PSP 5, but I'm assuming they're pretty similar as far as tools. Thanks t_u_e, I'll check that out and see if things improve any.
Now back to the regularly scheduled C6 worship.
I really dig the Nighthawk skin, defenitely my favorite. The colors contrast very well and the yellow really stands out, drawing your attention. Very nice.

if you're talking about the live action one...jeez, that was terrible. :thumbdown: The animated series was pretty nice, but that live action movie... I *just* watched that movie this summer, and boy, it nearly killed everything that is Spawn for me.

Bit of a red, white, and blue motif going here....
Thanks to Marvel Ultimate Alliance I felt like updating my Cap ( best character to play with by the way ;) ). I went back to a more classic version...no feather scalemail...no pouches...no pointless seams on the mask. Whenever I update Cap... I always have to update US Agent as well. Super Patriot is a skin I've wanted to do for a long time but just never got to him. Supernova was one of those "impulse skins". I'll probably be moving this one to a hex of UB's Quasar mesh ( for the cape ).
I'm thinking of doing a John Walker Captain America. The only difference will be the face...not sure if its worth it though. Updates to Super Patriots's buddies, Right Winger and Left Winger, are in the works.

I love the new qnd updated skins. I had always hoped you do John Walker as the Super Patriot. Now how about John Walker as he appeared in the Invaders series. Would be too cool. I really like the old-school Super Patriot.
As always, I can never compliment your skins enough. The patriotic motiff seems to really suit your style. Quick question though, what mesh is Super Patriot on? It's really a nice frame for the skin.

Super Patriot and Super Nova, especially, look terrific.
Super Patriot looks likes its on a Major Force mesh ... although I may be, and frequently am, wrong.
I think my love of that particular skin stems from that fact that I first started reading Cap around the period of the whole Super Patriot/ Power Broker/ D-Man/ The Captain storyline.

I've never been a fan of cell shaded stuff C6, but you do it to perfection, as with all else. ^_^ Well, he had Hal's origin, but he seemed pretty solidly Kyle to me.

C6, I've always been a fan of your skins and I must say that those a frickin' awesome. The only thing I can't get past is that Superman really needs his cape. I wonder if Volsung is planning to modify Male_Cape or another suitable caped mesh. Anyways, great stuff :D

As for the wolverine_TJ mesh, I've seen a few links, but would it be safe to use syn's update on F-A? Ya I noticed that someone posted about the TJ/Syn mesh in the request forum. I've already hexed that one to what I'm looking for :cool:.
As for the others I may have to supply the mesh with the skin (with proper credit in the readme files ofcourse).

I don't think those meshes you have left on your list have a home anymore, unless ink has his meshes in a yahoo group I don't know about. on a side note, there is file for "vegetarians looking for fun and love" in one of ink's yahoo groups if anyone is interested. :P
While I love your Superman and Steve's hair very much (I am a sucker for the S-shield and perfect hair) I'm not a fan of Northstar's face or Quasar's costume (i do however love the way you did the cape and shoulders) for some reason. I love all of the color work and it is nice to see a whole team of skins (alpha flight red-costumes = awesome) but I don't know.

vxSuperman was already well worth the download. The animations are awesome - the flying animation is a perfect Superman pose. I was pretty sure C6 wouldn't be able to resist making a skin for it. And what a great job he's done. Can't wait to try it out.

I was sorting through my collection of preview pix last night and noticed the date on the original preview for the Retro XMen Skins was back in 2005. I have to say they were well worth the wait!! Since you're (semi) retired from skinning now, I have to ask - are you intending to release the other Alpha Flight skins you previewed - Box, Classic AF uniforms as well as that "reverse" Guardian skin??

* The power animation (chucking shield in the air)
* The way he uses his shield more (defense, dodging, running)
* For some reason, I really dig the shield throwing animation where he takes off his shield with his opposite hand and flings it. Excellent stuff.

and since i'm asking, courtnal6, how do you feel about me using, for example, a skin you made for male basic, on a male basic derived mesh? like, texas jacks punisher. or would you rather i only use skins for the exact meshes you intended them for? i have a mod i will release someday.

Not that awesome unfortunately. It's a photoskin with a lot of additional work. I tried to "trace" my own version but it ended up looking nothing like Reb.

Also, my jean is shown in the Character Tool as only being the .nif file and .kf working, but no skins, even though they exist in the correct folder.
Psylocke works fine except that instead of the costume being correctly colored, it's stuck in the purple glow, even though the costume is there (but purple).

Funny thing is that I went to Renegades site looking for something and got caught off guard by those updates, so I was playing them before I saw this post. The Hydras are awesome, exactly what I needed for my growing collection of minions. US AGENT rawks too, I cant wait to put together the whole team even if it's using their old appearances (such as beta ray bill).

Sweet job on Galactus and Magneto. Wow, you made Galactus so cool. I like how you got silver surfer on is hand.
Hmm, I'm a little torn on Hobgoblin and Magneto. The black under the hood on Hobgoblin makes him look more sinister. The original red hue on Magneto balances the intensity of the purple better. As for Galactus, I'm noticing that the expression is more a "limitation" of the shape of the eyes on the mesh (don't get me wrong, it's a great mesh), than the skin.
I'm not sure how others feel, but it might be worthwhile to release both skins on Magneto.
Everything aside, it's thrilling to see some really cool skins from you once again. :thumbup:
Hmm....I think IPS was definitely right about the colors on Mags...although I didn't realize until I saw this version, definitely an improvement. Hobgoblin too, although the change was more minor. Galactus......hmm...what about changing the eyes? All white or all another color? I think there's something about the way you have them that seems to lessen his imposing nature.....although the rest of the skin really looks majestic!
...because his (Galactus) eye's are black with white [square] irises... :wacko:
I love the skins but I totally agree about the Big Purple "G."
What I would suggest is emulating the look for MUA:

I think what really astounds me with the big G, is how your details really bring out a etched/ contoured look. It really makes the helmet look like the designs are molded into the mesh (3d), not just drawn on. And yet, the detail is not overdone, either. (Oops, think I :drool: -ed there.) :thumbup:
The move to yellow irises was a nice touch as well. It makes a more subtle contrast than the white. Always with you and the finer details...it really makes a person jealous. :P
By the by, I have a question for you, sir: Am I correct to believe that your base skin packs are for public use (until some of us lazy and/ or less artistic folk can make our own?) Not your full bore character skins, just the bases, I mean.

IPS is mostly right, but Yellowjacket, Morrison X-Men, Hawkgirl, Huntress and I think Spectre are pre-base, back when you were still using a version of Gryphon's base. Most of the rest are post base, and many post base 2.
If your target is skins that look comparitively crappy then those are the type that need an update. But if you're wanting to take advantage of newer mesh options...well that's something else that can be remedied :D

The problem must be in the meshes not the skins, but its not the first time i had pink skins in ctool with c6 skins beacuse there was missing some .tga like _glow but its a very easy fix ^_^.
I think your most recent Hulk's rock. I move them around from mesh to mesh and they look good no matter where they go. I like the veins in his shoulders. They make him look very imposing.

Hawkeye was updated to fit VX_Hawkeye. Wolverine is just a recolour of his current costume to his brown scheme ( I was curious to see how it would look). Black Knight is also just a recolour to actually look like the
Black Knight. The original standard I did for Gren was during my "No black" phase so he ended up looking like the Blue Knight. Yellow Jacket, Blizzard, and Speed Demon are new base updates.[/spoiler]

The VX_Hawkeye wasn't released at NPI. It was released with a few others ( VX versions of Superman, Doctor Fate, Space Ghost). I can't remember where though...the thread is probably still in the release forum.

Seriously, these are great! Just the rght level of detail on Hawkeye and Black Knight's armor. I love the Wolverine re-color, this is the color scheme I always knew Wolvie in... And combined with the modern design he looks great (hear dat, Marvel??) ;)

You can usually tell the difference between Renegade and Grenadier meshes by details like the bootcuffs which tend to be closer in shape to the base primitives on a Grenadier mesh. For example, on this Hawkeye mesh (which, iirc, was released and was the basis for the SA Green Arrow meshes by myself and Renegade), you can see how symmetric and cylindrical the bootcuffs are. Renegade makes flares and irregularities. Just compare the Captain America meshes.

I had a Hell of a time finding skin and mesh for her when I originally joined the community, and I eventually realised the problem, as I had only ever known the character as Captain Marvel.

Oh, well, if they weren't released publicly then yeah, that does make sense. Otherwise, if there was some sort of error preventing people from downloading then a temporary Yahoo! Group hosting wouldn't do much harm. I think this is what has been going on with Ink's meshes, anyway. Maybe not. Oh well..
I think gren's Hawkeye is in his 15th group, but I won't swear to it. He released a bunch of really neat meshes about 2 years ago before disappearing again. That Hawkeye mesh also comes with a really neat sky cycle.

I'm not asking you to do it, I'm just wondering how hard that would be. I have an armored character I've been working on and I can't pull it off, but I'm not C6, either. :)

I kind of like it. I thought Colon could pull it off, as did JR, Jr. They normally did it when Iron Man was in trouble (or so it seemed to me), so I guess you are right, Podmark. I haven't read an Iron Man comic in a long time, so I'm not sure if its even an artistic key anymore. Heck, maybe I'm not even remembering who did it. Maybe it was Tuska. Oh, well.

Yes...many, many, many, many moons ago when I was still just learning how to skin. I used his original skin as a guide and added my own colour and muscle base ( not the flesh...that's all Abdul's).

I think that was the point. Tony Stark was always a weak man. It was the suit that made him strong. Anyways I digress. Great job on everything, as always, especially Ironman.
I actually like being able to see his eyes because it gives a point of reference for the reader to identify with the human inside the suit.
i think the eyes argument all depends on the armour that is being used, it works for some but looks terrible for others

I think it depends on the artist; some can do it, some can't. Some know when to show the eyes, some don't. I'd study Colan, Adams, and a couple of others before I ever tried to do the series.
As to Tony Stark's character, that depends on who is writing him. Stark has done the patented "useless playboy" schtick for years, despite the fact that he was developing high-tech armaments and technology to defend the country (see S.H.I.E.L.D.). It was usually Iron Man that got in the way, caused him to miss deadlines, lose contract, lose girlfriends, and so on. "Iron Man" was more of a soap opera than any other Marvel comic, and it suffered at times for that. Angst is one thing...
Now the character is just being ruined for ruination's sake.

GPL stands for Gamma Patrol of L-something (I can't spell it, bleh) and it's where Ink, AA, C6, and several others had their stuff up before it was taken from us.

Darkhawk - Not sure about him...never had much interest in skinning him.
Ultron -Skinned him awhile ago...may not be available anywhere at the moment though.
Soviet Super Soldiers - I've done Red Guardian and my Crimson Dynamo needs a major update so I might end up doing the rest down the road.
Omega Flight - I've been interested in skinning them. Guardian ( Mac Hudson that is..but can easily be used as the other wannabe) and US Agent are already done.
Red Skull - I did the classic WWII green jumpsuit version on a vx mesh but that's going to be updated to a new mesh.

I have c6's ultron, I believe, locked away somewhere as he was gonna appear in my Exiles mod. Of course, by now, it might have morphed into female *tony stark* ultron. I'll need to check on that.

If you ended up doing skins for the classic John Byrne Omega Flight (Wildchild, Flashback, Diamond Lil, Smart Alec, Delphine Courtney), I'd be stoked. I'm a big fan of John Byrne's "Alpha Flight" run ... the issue where Mac "dies" while fighting Jaxon/Box was one of the first comics I ever read.

The "ohmigod great skins!" part of my post goes without saying, so I'll ask this: does anyone else think Angel gets the less nice end of the stick when it comes to costumes? His seems to be the worst everywhere except in the original X-Factor (where Jean suffers the clashy goodness of green and yellow). There can be argument made for Jean's Marvel Girl costume too. Cyclops on the other hand, iconic costume gold, every time. Your X-Factor 2 Archangel redesign is nice, although I'll ask the obligatory "Will you be releasing a version that's more accurate to the comics?"

Angel's original X-Factor is one of my favs. I love the whole groups look in those single X peices. Great design!

Court, these are all very amazing but a few things seems off. The "X" on Archangel's redesign looks like two back-to-back "f's" even though I think you were going for a wing-like design on the "X", First Class Jean's "X" looks a little high on her abdomen and a little too large compared to the others and Classic Iceman man looks more like ice than snow. However despite that I love these all. The the yellow color and folding on the classic costumes is remarkable.
about classic iceman, i think it would be great using a no-face mesh, maybe a bit bigger (like armour-armour skope ^_^)

Hmmm...I wasn't going for a wing-design or back to back "f's" on Archangel. I was just echoing some design elements from his original...but now that you mention it...
As for Marvel Girl's X...ya it is too high...that was me being too lazy last night to adjust it properly :oops:. It'll be fixed.
I'll play around with snow Iceman's texture some more.

As usual all the kudos being heaped upon you are well deserved. I was just looking at your Old X-Factor pack, and Ioticed the skins were using a Gryphon base, and I thought I bet those will be updated soon.
One thing: when Werer Roth pencil the X-Men (he drew the Graduation Uniforms), often drew the belt buckles as trapizoids and had a "flat flap" on Cyke's boots as seen below.

Sent you the skope Courtnall. If you ever need anything skoped don't hesitate to ask most stuff is easy enough. For example we could get some actual belts and buckle's onto all those original X-Men pretty easily. Different hair is easy too.
-As for the un-iced Bobby, I know the original just wore the yellow shorts with the belt and boots.
-No idea for First Class though I'd assume the standard uniform. Ask Previsionary, he reads the book.
-According to http://www.uncannyxmen.net/db/spotlight/showquestion.asp?faq=10&fldAuto=55&page=9 he wears blue shorts and boots for the grad costume.
-First X-Factor was like #6 on Uncanny.net's site I think that's the one you already have.
-second X-Factor I believe is the same colours but redesigned like Cyclops. With the power belt obviously.
-Third is the blue and gold X-Factor version. #8 on Uncanny.net. You've skinned Cyclops in this design long ago.
-there's also the Champions version (#3), X-Terminators (#5) and then the Blue and Gold team era version (#9). After that it except the modern stuff.

It's funny, this month I've started redoing my hero files starting with the X-men. For Colossus I decided to have him revert to human form on stun, but decided against doing something like that for Iceman. I may have to rethink that decision.
All the skins look great Court. It's very nice to have the alt Bobby set, and Angel is one of my all-time favorites. And those new meshes aren't too shabby either.

It's funny, this month I've started redoing my hero files starting with the X-men. For Colossus I decided to have him revert to human form on stun, but decided against doing something like that for Iceman. I may have to rethink that decision.
All the skins look great Court. It's very nice to have the alt Bobby set, and Angel is one of my all-time favorites. And those new meshes aren't too shabby either.

I did skin him once...a long time ago on Ink's Sunfire mesh. I'll probably skin him on vx_Sunfire this time around. That's the first Polaris skin I've done (not including Malice) and that Storm is more accurate than my last attempt.
Couldn't remember if you'd done Banshee or Proudstar before. But I knew Polaris was new.

Hi, I think the new team assembled for Giant Size X-Men #1 was the one depicted in the image (just Sunfire missing, as some of you hinted). The rest of the classic team also appeared in that issue, including Jean as Marvel Girl, but they weren't "technically" a part of the new X-Men. In fact if one wants to be @n@l you could even say Havok and Polaris shouldn't be in the photo either (not that I'm complainig or anything :P)
Wonderful skins, by the way. Can't wait to test them against some sentinels :)

Dude, when you're in the groove, you're IN THE GROOVE. Those X-skins are just awesome and I especially like classic Polaris (she was going simply by Lorna Dane then) and Storm.
But, what about giving some C6 attention to the group that (possibly) served as the (arguable) inspration for the original X-Men: the Doom Patrol (Robotman, the Chief, Negative Man and Elasti-Girl)? All the X-folks have had the benefit of your talent with very few exceptions but these hard-luck heroes have never had if I recall. C6 Doom Patrol: now, THAT would be awesome.
Just a thought.
i'm excited about that colossus.if thats going to be his mesh height in game i'm in heaven.thats how big proportion wise to the other characters i think he should be.i always liked the original thunderbird also.man...now i'm going to be magnetically drawn to my computer again like i was looking for the thing.i'm already feeling the pull.

He's on Gren's Classic Colossus mesh so he's not that tall I'm afraid. :(

I would like to thank the makers of the Captain America Bucky skin/mesh for making me spit coffee all over my monitor. I was checking out his power1 animation and had a mouthful of coffee and couldn't contain my laughter. :lol:
Guess it should be mentioned that this animation is in all the cap meshes but it's sort of a inside joke for those that are aware of the complaints of the new cap costume with the red, white and blue pointing to his groin.

Fantastic work on these X-men skins C6, but I am really blown away on all the Captain America skins you made for Ren's meshes. The one that comes to mind especially is the WWII Ultimate Cap skin, I can not believe all the little detail you put in on that skin and all his accessories. The buttons on his shirt fap, the flaps on his pouches, the great looking canteen (which saved his but on the war torn skin!), And that gun is perfect with the wood pieces (great texture) and that bolt action on the top (and it really is a Thompson submachine gun). And even though these little details can't be seen during game play, just know they are there give the battles a "cool" feeling. Plus those close up screen shots look fantastic.
There is only one tiny thing that doesnt look quite right with the Warpath skin, its the top of his "boot cuff things". His leg just kinda runs in the solid red top of the boot cuffs, it just don't blend right. But I am guessing its a mesh limitation and there isn't much that you can do with it.
But other than that, everything you have been making is crisp yet smooth and just darn right pleasing to look at.
And I love the idea that the last thing Nazis see before getting kicked inthe face by WWII Cap is "made in the USA"!

I'm surprised you actually did The Leader as I wouldn't expect any mesh to really work for him (much less the ultimate version...who rocks). I'll even forgive you, as I have AA, for skinning a Loeb creation. The skin I'm most happy with is Rhino as I asked UE to skin him awhile back.

I did consider a Rick Jones "through the ages" kinda thing...not sure if I'll do that or just one Rick. The bunch of skins I did for Ink's She-Hulk mesh don't really require updating yet...but who knows.

You're face work has really come a long way Court, great job on these faces. My favorite skins are Abomination and Doc Savage.
The Leader, Doc Samson, and Absorbing Man are by far my favorites of this lot. I've actually never heard of Ravage before.

Pretty good keys for the Hulk but they distorted the mesh too much for my liking.
No one would know about Ravage unless they were a raging Hulk fan. He was only around for 4 issues max (as a villain anyway, not sure about his character as a whole) and never mentioned again.
Shoot C6, we are suffering an embarrassment of riches these days. Fantastic work on all of these, but I have to say that the classic Leader and the Abomination are my favorites. The scales on 'bomy are quite awesome. :D

The Absorbing Man_Tall mesh was made way back...when Grenadier, Renagade, and myself collaberated on The Wrecking Crew (male_heavy and male_muscular_tall versions). I think Ren quickly put this mesh together and I never got around to skinning it until now. I could've sworn I saw it out somewhere.
Ren will have to confirm it for me though.

The Absorbing Man tall mesh was released, just un-played. I think I was the only one who ever used that version (and the Wrecking Crew Tall) becuase people just seemed to favor the male_heavy based versions.
And, good grief! That was 5 years ago that I made that! This does give me an excuse to make the mesh FFvTTR compliant though. Woo-hoo!

I disagree with this.... no official game would ever put the same effort or love into this skins and meshes as the creators here have done imho... this skins are WAY better than any official product could ever give us

I don't know, most people in the gaming industry have a lot of love for the characters they have to texture. If you've seen the XML/MUA textures up close and outside of game, you'd notice those skins are pretty detailed, but I doubt they'd stack up against current c6...but c6 is a skrull. I'm calling it now.

Well...an interesting day of traveling to Chicago. First my flight to Chicago was delayed 2 hours and since I was there 2 hours early for my original flight...4 whole hours to kill in an airport! Fun! :P
Then when I finally get to Chicago, ride the train to the station so Zap can pick me up...my cell phone wont make any outgoing calls. Now I can't call Zap or anyone for that matter. So I head out with my bags insearch for the ever elusive public payphone. After a few minutes I find 2 at a gas station...one reciever is broken in half and the other one just wont accept any change...and ofcourse they booth smell like urine. So after anther 20 mins of wandering around my cell phone rings...it's Zap! Rescued at last! :thumbup:

They're black because their costumes are black...or a colour that only exists in comics. I dislike using a gray tones for black. It makes the costume look faded.

Ok, Miguel, I'll try (you're from Spain and I from Italy. Why we must comunicate in English?). Otherwise, in the C6 skins for you Cyclop Mesh, more parts seem to be ghosting. I have copy and paste some texture from the original mesh/skin on the other mesh, but in your Cyclops skope there isnt a standard skin from take the _glow textures that XPTO says...
IT's easy, the problem is that you need more hidden skins.
You can download a complete hidden standard skin that is going to fix everything if you keep it as standard.

Not intentional as far as I can remember. I think I was just playing around with the hues a bit and forgot to switch them back.

vx_Cyclops classic skin in x-men pack 1 has the belt x-men symbol in black and its missing the portrait.
X-men pack 2 Cyclops has the same belt problem.

I didn't notice about the portrait in vx_cyclops, but you can easily hex out the belt buckle using nifskope, that fixes the problem.
About Storm, you have to provide some missing tga files; you can use any empty tga from another skin and rename it. One of those is bobhair.tga, the other ones I can't remember.
neck is one of them if I recall.

That Songbird is by another skinner. I think AA did one and someone else...the name's escaping me right now. Did a lot of Exiles skins I think.

Ah Courtnall 6....my fellow Champions and I have followed your skinning career with great interest....and a little envy :P! You are indeed a "champion" in your own right. You will create a new batch of fantastic skins as you are INSPIRED to do so. Maybe a few new things...characters that you haven't tried or even "dare I say" an original character...you are a fantastic artist...certainly you have a character or two floating around in your imagination that would translate well in FF...just a thought.

I was actually supposed to do the standard for it but never got around to it. Gren released it with one of my older skins attached to it. I started to skin it a few months ago but my burnout hit. I will finish it once I get back in the groove.

I agree with you here ips. Unfortunetly this Kraven skin suffers from me not being fully "into it" yet. His face wasn't done from scratch...just modified from my standard base. I was planning to give him a sadistic grin...but simply just didn't want to work at it. His hair was also below my my usual level...mainly do to the fact that his hair is seperated into 2 sections on the mesh. Again...I just didn't want to work at it.
In a week or two when I'm fully in the groove...Kraven will get an extreme makeover from the neck up!

I never gave much thought to skinning supporting cast like MJ and Jarvis. The current Ironman armour is on my to do list one day and I don't really care much for Ronin...but who knows!

Wow, a rainbow of Kree! I've always liked the Kree...maybe when I'm 110 I'll do a Marvel campaign featuring them.... ;) that Kraven, is of course, beautiful. I have to say though, I really like those Kree. They are simple, but very well done.

After a google search, i realized that Captain Atlas is the one with the (stolen) nega bands of Captain Marvel. He also has that bluish white skin? He seems to be a villain as well.
Just to be clear, what i was hoping for was the original costume of Captain Marvel (the hero). No nega bands, and with the flesh colored skin. :)
But nevertheless any C6 skin would be great. :cool:
