Title: Costume Texture Help
Post by: martialstorm on November 16, 2008, 07:22:39 AM
Hi,

I've seen some excellent textures on costumes by various artists here and I'm hoping to be able to learn how to do it.

I'm using GIMP 2.62 and I've checked out a few tutes and trialled using various effects filters on layers without decent results.

Thanks for your help.

It's also about practice so my advice to you is to experiment and just have fun and develop your own style.

There useed to be sites where you could download trextures for Photoshop. So much of ttat stuff is gone, but it might still be worth doing a search.

You can create you own textures and patterns. As I remember, the Help section in PS (which is usually very little help at all) is pretty easy to follow. Then you need to learn how to do a pattern overlay in the Styles menu.
