and I assume it's for hooking up to the tv. My question is why would anyone do this? I mean wouldn't it be a pain to disconnect and haul your pc over to your tv? Have any of you guys done this?
The HDMI output on your video card would be useful if you were planning on building a Media Center PC, like a fancy, Windows- based TiVo. I've actually done this, just to mess around. It's pretty cool. There's even a special version of XP (Windows Media Center, I guess) that this kind of stuff is made for.

I've thought about the media center setup as well. Currently, I keep my laptop on an end table in the room where my TV is. That way, I can multitask and waste more than 24 hours in one day. :lol:
But, I have thought about pulling the trigger on one of those honkin' big LCDs TVs and placing a desktop machine in the cabinet below the TV and using the TV as the monitor. Then, a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and I would be all set. I think...
