Title: Hexing terrains?
Post by: qazwsx on October 09, 2008, 09:44:56 AM
You can't, can you? I tried to resize a map via hex and it comes out lovely in nofskope, however in edit-in-game, not quite.

I have done little things to maps via nifskope and gotten it to work, so its possible. Its probably more related to what you are trying to do, and the quirks of nifskope regarding nodes etc...

... or a mismatch between the terrain mesh and the extents data caused by resizing the mesh in NIFSkope or a hex editor ...

Oh yes, I skoped stuff fine before, but this terrain has many pieces which would make a nightmare to individually resize then move everyone of. This is where hexing completely owns, hexing, or so I thought.
Tiobe, extents do not actually alter the shape of the mesh in any way, does it?

I had a great deal of success on terrain. You get into a rhythm. My advice is to save often though, just in case.
