On Friday I was given the news that a new large dumpster had been delievered to the family farm... so were able to finally tackle emptying out all of the old junk from the shed(s) & garage there..
So we packed up the wife and son in the car Saturday morning at "Butt Crack" AM to get there for a large homemade breakfast (YUM!) and get a good start on the day..
A few hours later my brother-in-law, his wife, and their son arrived to help with the cleanup and celebrate their Wedding Anniversary.. But before the work began, we had some fun..
Time for Patrick (my son) & me to take few laps in the Go-Cart... Whoooohoooooo....

Note: The extreme unease of my son knowing that I can't drive because of my bad vision but he is going to be my cameraman on my YouTube videos of our ride..

Anyway, back to the point of my visit to the farm...
This is what we were there to tackle...

Baaa-Daaaa-Taaaaaaa... *dramatic music*... "Let's say it all together now... HOLY #@$@#!!!!"
We all dig into the chaos and we make huge progress for about 2 hours and manage to fill half of the dumpster... then I discover these...

I believe they are a pile of old computer servers from the late '70s or the very early '80s... and next to them were a pile of old monocrome monitors covered in cobwebs and weeds..
Now the bad part of the day happens.. I walked by one of those high shelves carrying one of those big servers in my arms and *BLAM!*.. I saw a dark shadow fall down from above and then stars... and blood...
I had a hell of a headache and found myself sitting in the dirt with the server at my feet and a crate of parts scattered everywhere.. drops of blood on my pants and jacket.. and when I felt the area near my nose..
I looked down at my gloves I was wearing and felt my stomach sink.. and then me fainting...
My family rushed me to the emergency room and I woke up with a bitching headache lying in one of the ER's rooms...

My glasses frames were broken, the lenses cracked, and had a deep slice into my nose so deep that I needed 3 stiches to close it and stop the bleeding. The photo above is the later picture after the clean-up and then giving me a second non-blood soaked ice pack for my nose.. some folks who read my journal are not fans of blood.
Needless to say by the time I was finished with waiting around to get released and getting back to the farm it was already 8 PM...so with my stitches and lots of bandages for my nose I finally got dinner.
The rest of the evening was spent watching a movie and then celebrating my Brother-In-Law's Anniversary with the family.. before I took a nap for a few hours and then rested with the ice pack on my head as my family drove home.
I've pretty much spent Sunday just lying around the house warding off the headache and nose pain with Tylenol with Codine. I got news from my In-Laws that dumpster #1 was filled today and another one arrived this afternoon - the barn pictured above is almost completely empty and once it's finished then the sheds are next. However I'm probably going to be taking it easy for the next week until I see my own doctor and get my stitches removed.

I suggest they end up on ebay.....I'm sure there's *someone* out there that will pay $$ for them.

Probably to be recycled for the metal parts anyway.. the circuit boards were pretty rusted and damaged by insects/rodents/birds to be of any use. I did keep one of the large circuit boards from a server just to use in a future art project since everything electronic these days have such tiny boards.
And I did recover an old Atari 2600 (still in the original box) with like 23 or so cartridges (also still in their original boxes) buried in a moldy computer paper box waaaay back on those shelves that you can't see in the photos... I kept that for myself... and there also was a motorcycle buried in there too but it was too rusted and covered in cobwebs.

Awesome! Does it work? And most importantly - did you get a copy of Adventure?
