Title: Golden Age Hawkman
Post by: danhagen on August 10, 2008, 11:24:37 AM
Has anyone ever done that mesh or skope? I would think it would be popular. Here's a reference: http://www.collectedcomicslibrary.com/dc_comics_archives/hawkman_archives/images/ga_hawkman_1.jpg

I *think* there's a mesh and a few skins. Tommy may have meshed it so check his site and um...C6 may have skinned him, check alexff. Those are the only two coming to mind right now that might fit what ya want. Benton G may know of others since this is his forte. :P

Atomic Robot did the early '60s version of the character. It's for Male Alpha, but it wouldn't be too hard to adapt it to one of the winged meshes.

I should be clearer about what I'm talking about, I think. I know that the later golden age Hawkman from 1949 or so, who had just a cowl and not a bird mask, has been done. The one I've never seen is the early golden age Hawkman, whose mask sported a particularly bizarre-looking beak. That's also the way he appeared in Roy Thomas' All-Star Squadron.

Linking to a picture, or posting one, will really help you out.

Check out a site like Comicvine.com and see if you find it. :)

When I first made a Hawkman I included a variety of different shaped beaks in the first version. Later versions I made were more specific to a particular era so the beak choice was limited.
If anyone still has the original hawkman_tv (the one with the morningstar/mace on a chain), that could probably be skoped to him.

That weird little bird mouth with tongue might be a pain to skope.  Not sure.  Plus, the wings were huge! and very soft looking.  I'm not sure there are any wing sets that look quite like that.  Still, I hope somebody can tackle it.

Tommy's Versitile mesh has all that stuff (including the tongue). I used the top and bottom beaks on a scope of another GA character named Raven.

You're right. Tommyboy's mesh is just about perfect. Thanks! And let me take this opportunity to thank him for countless hours of enjoyment derived from his yeoman efforts in this hobby.

*blushes*
You are too kind.
I'm just glad somebody is finally getting some use out of that beak/tongue combo.
Hawkman is one of those characters a mesher could get a lifetime's worth of material out of, with all his many incarnations..
