Title: Hero Files and Vista
Post by: Xenolith on July 16, 2008, 08:49:18 PM
Can anyone tell me where Hero files go when using Vista?  I am completely lost.

same place it goes on XP, I'm sure (few modifications to names and such). Or at least it does on my lappy.

C:\Users\(user name)\Local\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich\Custom\Heroes

HOWEVER, you may need to click the "compatibility files" button on the taskbar for certain things. It's a try and see type deal.

Hmm.  I don't even have a local folder showing up.  I don't even see how to reveal a hidden folder.  I wish there was a way to change the location of the hero folders.  Any ideas?

can't change herofile locations. It's hardcoded to the location. Same deal with FF1, except it went into a herofolder that was more easily accessible.

To show hidden files:

1. Open a folder
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Folder Options
4. Click view tab
5. Check "show hidden files and folders"

Dunzo. Not much, interface wise, changed from XP to Vista. But yeah, your folder may not show up as local...you could just create a character (to ensure the folder is created) and do a simple quick search. The search would take you right there and you could just make a shortcut of it.

Thanks, I'll give that shot when I get home.
