Title: Free Fonts & Brushes?
Post by: Figure Fan on July 14, 2008, 04:20:58 PM
Heya everyone,

I'm creating some print and layout designs for a potential job opportunity, and I'm looking for some good free fonts and brushes.

Do any of you have some sites you regularly visit?

Thanks :)

1001freefonts.com (http://1001freefonts.com/) (note that most of the "free fonts" are restricted to personal, non-commercial use).

You can also make your own fonts with Font Creator (http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html) (free to try for 30 days, $79.00 to buy). I made a font of my handwriting with the free trial software.

Alternatively, if you don't want to pay for font creation software, you can try using Fontstruct (http://fontstruct.fontshop.com/), a free, on-line font creation tool. It doesn't allow you to create fonts out of scanned bitmap images, though, so you can't make a font based on your lettering, but it's pretty versatile. The site also hosts the best user-made fonts for download.

Here's where I go to get some free fonts.
http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/decorative-fonts.htm (http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/decorative-fonts.htm)
As for brushes I mostly make my own.
Hope it helps.

I like DaFont (http://"http://www.dafont.com/") for fonts and for brushes, I just search DeviantArt (http://"http://www.deviantart.com").
